VideoLAN also features a cross-platform multimedia player, VLC, which can be used to read the stream from the network or display video read locally on the computer under all GNU/Linux flavours, all BSD flavours, Windows, Mac OS X, BeOS, Solaris, QNX, Familiar Linux. VideoLAN is free software, and is released under the GNU General Public License. It started as a student project at the French École Centrale Paris but is now a worldwide project with developers from 20 countries. It can also play packed and partly downloaded videos, even some damaged ones. I have been using it for years as my main media player. It's easy enough for basic functions, but I point out that some of its additional features are not quite intuitive. But you can find tutorials on them. The 32-Bit has the same CRC32 - 9F1E96D6 - to the one that was available from videolan.org. I assume the 64-Bit does also. Both 32-Bit & 64-Bit are digitally signed by VideoLAN. It's working with VLC 3.0.0 x64 on these test systems Win 7, 8.1 x64. Backup or note the custom settings and then Try re-install with these installer selections -> full -> Delete Preferences & Cache selected -> Custom.
