Astronomers strike gold, witness massive cosmic collision

By closely observing two stars in outer space, and watching as the stars crashed into each other, back in August, scientists in the U.S. and Europe say they've now been able to unlock multiple secrets.

What they witnessed and revealed Monday was the long-ago collision of two neutron stars — a phenomenon California Institute of Technology's David H. Reitze called "the most spectacular fireworks in the universe."

@OP nice article thanks for sharing. 

But IMO tho these guys put too much "facts" on a faint distant pinhole of a light in the sky. 

Besides everyone know gold is made by Rumpelstiltskin's daughter by spinning it from straw! geeeeezzz! :)

I don't believe in this "collision of two neutron stars" theory. What they REALLY saw was THE EXPLOSION OF THE DEATH STAR... As the Star Wars introductions says: this happened "a long, long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away…..."
