Mouse issue

Hi,

My mouse only works on my desk surface. It will not work on a mouse pad at all and i tried a different pad with same results. Both the mouse and the pad are less than a year old. They worked fine together 2 weeks ago. I changed the batteries, cleaned the lense and also the bottom of the mouse and the pad itself. his is a wireless mouse. Any ideas what could coz this guys?

Seems the mouse is only picking up certain colors. Have you tried using other materials ? What color is the mouse pad and what color is the desk surface ?

pads are black and the desk is tan.

Sounds like the mouse's thingyjammy (the light receptor - no idea what it's called) might not be working 100%. Either has a film of something over it, or is worn out. In which case, a light colored (like a yellow or even white) pad or paper/card should work since they will reflect more light.
I'd think about replacing the mouse.
