pref("browser.fullscreen.animate",false);
pref("browser.tabs.animate",false);

Apparently, the browser doesn't recognize them... It doesn't work anymore ? Because no the animation isn't disable

Try pref("browser.fullscreen.animateUp"); instead of pref("browser.fullscreen.animate");

pref("browser.tabs.animate"); has been depreciated. ;)

pref("toolkit.cosmeticAnimations.enabled",false);

Apparently, no it didn't work @dcs18 but thank you, I wasn't aware and finally, I think I might have found a solution.

pref("browser.fullscreen.animateUp" 0); disables animation on the ToolBar and Tab Strip

pref("browser.fullscreen.animateUp" 1); enables animation on only the first collapse

pref("browser.fullscreen.animateUp" 2); enables animation on the ToolBar and Tab Strip

At least thank you to try @dcs18 but you're wrong (or confuse). Because today I had check again (with one new profile) and no, it doesn't work.

So far, the cosmeticAnimations seem's to be good.

About the update, I had met one error...  It was the right file (installer Firefox_v55.0.2) but apparently, it was'nt apply for real...

Because I didn't have the right version indicate (it was 55.0.1 intead of 55.0.2 on the page "about:healthreport" or "about:support").

So I had solved this trouble easily : I had resintall the browser (and in the case, yes I had remove the profil).

Nope, I've got the following 2 on my systems — they're both working perfectly fine (tested on all client machines, too):—

("browser.fullscreen.animateUp" 2);

("toolkit.cosmeticAnimations.enabled" true);

If anybody's wondering why firefox is going down the road to their des...you know !!

I think the latest Nightly v57 (which Ive tested myself) provides the answer in very explicit way :

I had try a few more times and no it's refuse to work.

pref("browser.search.defaultenginename","DuckDuckGo");
pref("browser.search.selectedEngine","DuckDuckGo");

Now, I will need to discover how to restore the search engine ? It's probably not the right syntax... Unless, I had miss something (file search.json.mozlz4, etc) ?
