anuraag Posted August 14, 2017 Share Posted August 14, 2017 WinRAR is a powerful archive manager providing complete support for RAR and ZIP archives and is able to unpack CAB, ARJ, LZH, TAR, GZ, ACE, UUE, BZ2, JAR, ISO, 7Z, Z archives. Its RAR format may only take second place for its level of compression – but it is consistently the fastest when it comes to both packing and unpacking files. While RAR files are not native to Windows or Mac, many other compression programs are still capable of unpacking it. WinRAR is available on Windows, OSX, and Linux, despite the name. In order for WinRAR can work as it should work, it must be installed in a normal way. And of course, winrar is already mostly portable, because all data is in the installation folder, only version number is in %AppData%\WinRAR (useless) and assosiated file types in registry, which are also needed only, when program is normally installed). It works the same as a 7-Zip portable https://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/7-zip_portable you have too open the program and use it within the program itself instead of by association. I keep WinRAR portable on my portable hard-drive for years encase I'm working on some noobs computer and they don't have WinRAR or 7-Zip . No one told you that you have too download and use it . When you're fixing someones PC or using it because you're not home you dont want too be installing programs on there computer unless you have permission. So i have portables on a hard-drive i can stick in my pocket and i can plug it in anywhere and work on there PC or watch a movie and listen too music . Just put the key file in the same directory as the installer and install the program. the key file is automatically recognized and copied to the install dir. The link leads you to http://www.win-rar.com/start.html?&L=0 which is not a scam site. Even rarlabs.com (http://www.rarlab.com/feedback.htm) leads you to win-rar.com.
