FT Deep Dark not working with 55.

FF has a dark theme built into the browser. Not sure if you're going for looks or convenience. In my case, I don't like the brightness of FF by default, so any dark theme will do.

this program not auto update to newer versions now?

It will update, just needs time.

So the evening of 8th August or morning of 9th August, it should update, otherwise you can trigger it to check for update.

From the AMO page:-

Quote

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> IMPORTANT <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

CONCERNS MULTIPROCESSING COMPATIBILITY WITH FIREFOX 54+

All complete themes do disable multiprocess mode. This means that it is not an issue specifically related to my theme. Any complete theme you can install will disable it.
This was a preventative measure applied by Mozilla to avoid any compatibility problems. Unfortunately there's no easy way to work around this, so users who want to use my theme will be stuck with single-process mode until the programmed end of complete themes (starting Firefox 57). Thanks for your understanding

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

So you chose either multiprocessing or FT Deep Dark but sooner or later(read FF v57) FT Deep Dark will stop functioning.

I use FF nightly's own dark theme. Even the stable build has a dark one.

I know I use it but menus are white. I go for convenience.

I read this from the developers addon site and didn't like it.Thanks anyway.

This is not a theme but a good dark background for all websites.

Fantastically bad, it completely changes the layout of all web pages so that some are completely unusable, text is not readable, links are not visible, etc.
A completely inappropriate and useless junk.

What happens in Mozilla devs head ?

With that new v55, I lost quite half of the icons on my tools bar .... completly useless now :s

And when I check the addons manager all, except 1, get the mention "OBSOLETE"

==> revert back to 54.0.1 in first time ...

==> will soon use Vivaldi

Open Add-ons and try to update manually, most likly You have disabled auto update.

That's the reason. I recommend to enable autoupdate.

No, auto update is turned on for alla my computers (home, office, laptops ...)

And quite everyday, I check addons page on Mozilla website, so I'm sure to be up-to-date

  • I'm not talking about updates on computer, programs, etc., but specifically on updates from Firefox add-ons.
  • They have nothing to do with computer or program updates, but each user and each Firefox must be turned on separately, it is on extensions page.
  • Also,  visiting the add-ons page (or website) does not help if you do not start the upgrade process there.
  • Till now all add-ons and extensions work, what worked in previous version.

If Stylish continues to work on your copy, you can personalize the way you want your sites to appear — if not, the beta version of Stylish should do the job.

missing somethings ?

That's just a general notice. Some people had external plugins loaded into their firefox and with the recent changes FF has made, some of them might have become disabled. So that's just Mozilla explaining them why so happened.

FT Deep Dark no longer keeps up with FF 55. Any alternative?

For me it works like a charm. Sorry that it doesn't for you. completely unusable? you can tweak the colors and disable it in any website you don't like you know.
