qBittorrent is a multi-platform Bittorrent client developed in C++/Qt4. The qBittorrent project aims to provide a Free Software alternative to µtorrent. Its main features are its integrated search engine (allows searching for torrent from the main torrent Web sites simultaneously in a transparent fashion), its support for l'UPnP/NAT-PMP, Bittorrent protocol encryption (Azureus-compatible), Peer Exchange (PeX) compatible with µTorrent, IP filtering (eMule-like "ipfilter.dat" or PeerGuardian filters), Torrents (and the files they contain) prioritizing, remote control through a secure Web User Interface.

Thanks to Astron for the update.

Google bans BitTorrent (self.torrents)

dodane 10 godzin temu przez sledgehammer999

Hey guys, I am the current qBittorrent maintainer. This is my first time writing here so I hope I chose the correct subreddit.

Almost two months ago the guys at FossHub informed me that AdSense has been flagging the qBittorrent page as "unauthorized file sharing." The consequence was that it stopped generating revenue for that page for FossHub. FossHub tried multiple times to find the reason and resolve it, but they have been stonewalled by what they think to be generic/automated answers. For a brief moment, someone (a real human) or an automated script decided to ban their whole site while they were trying to get a reply. After that, they were forced to stop placing ads on the qBittorrent page. I am writing this in frustration and protest because these guys, have offered us a lot of help behind the scenes and they were very quick to implement various features for us(e.g., inline GPG signs, update URL, etc). For those who don't remember, we chose them after the SourceForge fiasco with forced adware in the installers. FossHub runs a pretty clean and fast site. They are a hub of good software there. And they do their best not to have intrusive/obstructive ads, ads which help pay for their bandwidth. Nevertheless, FossHub still supports qBittorrent. But I keep wondering why the multitude of other unofficial sites, which are very popular and place ads on their qBittorrent pages too, aren't being flagged too? In any case, I am writing this to inform our user base about Google's shenanigans. And if any of you works at AdSense, then please help FossHub talk to a real person or treat all sites fair by allowing or not allowing BitTorrent clients. File sharing programs aren't illegal. We don't control what users choose to share.

PS: Enjoy the new 3.3.14 release in a few minutes. In the next couple of weeks you'll see 3.4.0beta.
