Cellison Posted June 27, 2017 Share Posted June 27, 2017 I get this "The file may be read-only, or you may be trying to open a read-only location" message when I try to open MPP file with the help of Microsoft Project. What version of Project was this file created in? This message can come when a project created in an earlier version is attempting to be opened in a newer version. See if you can view the file with this http://www.moosprojectviewer.com/ Some other thoughts that arise: Can you locate the file, right click on it and select open with and then choose program and maneuver to your project exe file select always use to open and see if it will open.
