The driver is from 2013 so it not updated in years only thing changed was the icon on the driver ..No problems on Windows 8.1 i installed both versions of FxSound Enhancer 13 but on a clean machine were the old was never installed on. There was never no need for them too update the driver it was just they had too get Microsoft too sign it for DFX 12 so it would work right in Windows 10 they fixed this a long time ago . Why you dont like it Equalizer APO has support for DFX as well i just set PC Equalizer too full and DFX sounds better than it does without it. Well i can't argue about that because APO is free , But still DFX is good say if you use Netflix did you know APO want work in DRM Protected apps . Equalizer APO can not be signed because it is not part of a sound card driver and therefore officially unsupported. To allow unsigned APOs to be used, the registry value DisableProtectedAudioDG in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Audio has to be set to 1. This will allow the APO to be loaded but at the same time break the protected audio path, which makes some applications refuse to work. I don't see any way around this for Equalizer APO. I don't know of alternatives to E-APO that provide the same functionality (system-wide parametric equalizer with any sound card). I dont use DRM or Netflix so it's never been a problem for me. DFX uses a audio driver were it can get around this were APO does not. It's a limitation in Windows. Quote Writing your own Audio Processing Object and deploying it by hacking existing driver stores is not supported by Microsoft. The only supported way to deploy an APO is to package it as part of an audio driver, including going through the Hardware Compatibility Kit to get a Microsoft signature. But there is no way I'm paying 40+ EUR blindly. It's just too expensive to make random purchase and limited demo is just not showing me enough features to make a good decision on purchase.
