StartIsBack is a great way to relieve your (and your users) Windows 8 pain. StartIsBack returns Windows 8 a real fully featured start menu and start button, behaving exactly like the ones in Windows 7. StartIsBack radically improves desktop usability and makes new Start screen clutter-free. StartIsBack is fully native lightweight zero-privileges program, cheap and fair, fast, stable and secure. Boot to desktop; Original fully-featured Windows 7 start menu; Desktop and Modern interfaces clearly separated; Make Start screen clutter-free; Totally native; Rich customization and configuration; And More to come! Think of it as a transition path which Microsoft should have made for Windows 8. StartIsBack+ is the all-new version of StartIsBack for Windows 8.1. It's a FREE upgrade for all StartIsBack users. With Windows 10 StartIsBack++ is your pick.

Thanks to SalaR and Siddharta for the update.

I do not use any patched version. I just delete every three weeks this key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\CLSID\{dc8137d7-6d72-3550-a000-ae9c2affc92}

That's because they are all different, as is mine.

Search for StartIsBack in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\CLSID\

Or search the entire Registry and look for key in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\CLSID\

Use a good Registry Editor such as TorchSoft Registry Workshop.

LOL  this software  cracks me up  they cant even get 2$  from you guys  a sandwich from the market would cost you more . I  don't really disagree it''s not worth 2 bucks  because windows 10 already has a  start menu and  I always use classic shell on windows 8.1  I have pcs with both OS on it .   I just don't hardly use the one with Windows 10 . :)

It depends on your own perferance. Personally I hate Windows start menu and I prefer using startisback. I bought the license since windows 8 and still working for windows 10 :)

If you don't wish to search like I said in my previous post, then click each key in the left panel and the right panel will eventually reveal what key belongs to what program.

Once you know that, then you know what key to delete.

Other than that, buy it like me.

Or just install auto reset. Install and forget, Everyday is a 30 days trial and you can update also :)

I didn't know that the keys were for different programs...thought they were all associated with Start Is Back....Sorry.
