Monitoring software?  This means a noob was dumb enough to install  it  I Monitor  my computers all  the time with a IP sniffer besides I have a good 3rd party Firewall and any program  gets installed on my PC I have allow it access too the internet . Windows 10 and Windows 8.1 do the same thing  it has stuff  that calls back too Microsoft and I never give it internet,   See as time went on I grew wiser I said before I just used a AV and default Windows Firewall  I'm not talking about what I use now lol.

I wouldn't call him absolute n00b, as he did not install anything of the sort (or could remember), what he did is to use p2p .. that's it!

Absolutely clandestine malware it was...

Now, I get it, your set up (and such absolute trust)... and in such case, would say it would need to be deliberate instalation of something to be packaged with something to break in to your system... or... be in proximity to use AirCrack, that fools IP monitoring software ;) sorry buddy, you already said enough :P

Out of curiosity, did that.  And it found nothing -- except a clean PC.

Am I missing the joke (or some thing)?  ;)

Lets say, you are lucky! ;)

Using frst and generate a log file, and then analyze that is better in my opinion.

Analyzing something, that at a particular time is not active will not show much!

Do you believe M$ certification is to be trusted?

Actual M$ cant keep up with back-doors newly created and ones, used by agencies "with permission"... hence endless updates.

That's for genuine M$ products, then every single browser, then plug-inns....

Nobody is 100% safe, trust me

That happen too me once years ago like back in 2008  i downloaded a infected keygen from P2P witch had a 0day malware in it and kaspersky  failed to find it  . But lucky for me I had a interactive firewall at the time and Winpatrol and both caught it. I used unlocker and removed it. Some of the long time members  here can verify this happen  too me once a long time ago.   When I used just Windows Firewall was latter on after this happen . like from 2011 -2014 I used just Windows Firewall and never had a problem  I  been using a good interactive  firewall  again every since 2014 .

Lets say, all of the experiences and monitoring taking in to the account, actual hardware manufacturer leaves vulnerabilities? (as router drivers, network adapter etc) or ISP is willing to see your traffic?- thus would be another way/level of sophistication from a crack being infected (and often them infected cracks on P2P's are already made/placed with blessing of big agencies). Simply you data traffic analyzed from different point  in order to find a way in to "yours" (anyone's really) system .

Same goes to the 'unix fanboys, Internet and device security is only feeling of believe of being safe.

And to make myself looking absolutely paranoid- I have no doubt, that we have them "bots" monitoring this site/posters here too ;)

Also, I could explain as how well known British Torrent Site (in the past) creator has been betrayed by the paid server service provider... but that would be another story.

In old version of the site when we see who recently browsed there were bots of big G and others. Surely there are still now, lack of private posting is easy for them, not?

These things are so simple, that it doesn't need actual human hacker to monitor activity, there are tools for automated identification and monitoring - collecting in logs to be used, as when they are pleased.

(Might be too much said), few years ago over some issues, I have personally been monitored, hence had to change my habits on few sites, changed my hardware, connection ways and have been identified and monitored by certain well known organization... or even few of them?

I was simply mentioning a fact I didnt say eset is hackerproof because it isnt.  If I had to choose one of those antiviruses I would choose eset or kaspersky then again this is av test who says one of these antiviruses didnt pay to get the score that it did.  There is alot of immaturity in this thread.  Everybody has a opinion and is entitled to share it clam down people its going to be ok.

Are you trying hide from Government or what ? Coming on a open forum and speaking in public  is a  good way too draw attention too yourself  of course there's lots of bots that monitor  this  site  some we know about that are known prism actors .  And yes you're being paranoid .. I uploaded warez for years before I retired  from it and never used a VPN or anything   . I myself have got more paranoid in recent years  and I use a VPN and don't even upload in public no more only i share on a one on one  bases  . But I never knew none of my friends on the English forums  to get arrested

As said earlier, I had changed my habits, hence do speak openly of what I am aware.

Warez didling might be of interest, but, AFAIK its small fry for them.

And saying about being paranoid- I only said so, it is not paranoia- it is the dynamics of current "safety" people do have...

To draw attention back on to myself it would be enough to type in few things as GSHQ or else ;):D

Any plan to return to upload?

I maintain separate clean('ish) systems now, don't have enough time to do any significant work or uploads, don't want to upset "old friends" as to say :P

Not really ,  I went dark for like 2 years after i stopped  and did not even sign into no sites . I comeback here in 2014  to explain to people that host blocks no longer was effective in a app we used and needed to block it in ips was all and then I started posting the news and stuff  ..I a was member here for  years before I became very active. I  uploaded on sites were no one could see what you was doing unless you logged in mostly.  When I posted in public it just ended up filehost telling me my files were deleted  because of DMCA  and I got really paranoid and quit.

I got warning from file host before but  really I just wanted out of it. most the sites I uploaded on are long gone now i use to post on but a few out of the 5 I posted on only 2 is still around only reason i still sign in here and other sites is because I joined  them years ago . What better way too  quit than just to never go back ? I see it happen here all the time people come and go like the wind.

I had those from MegaUp and MediaF, - blatantly ignored...

(really just changed my nicks, email addresses, IP changer etc)

My "rude awakening" happened in different area of activity

Also, there are official sites, monitored unofficially (few ex-warez), but especially political etc... worth mentioning "one Australian", who runs several and is absolute grass!

Any decision is respected, only thing I wish is someone from old school came back, :)

You mean watchlist like this, https://pastebin.com/Ntpt0DFT ?

I believe most do come back to this and other sites, as warez and other things are almost like drug addiction, but ever so often under different nicknames or actual intension's

As per your second link  which is only such a small percentage...

Bit of "advice"-2- do not entrust most anon groups with anything personal ;)

That's never going happen we all spoke about  it back when Megaupload  got shut down by the FBI  and a bunch other sites closed . If  people would stop uploading for profit  and go back too sharing from the heart we would return .  This site is one of the few sites left that don't allow sharing  for profit in the old days it was unheard of . Uploaders today don't give credits  or test half the time  and some have made a lot money from who run blogs.

Give me an example of personal

open ircc chat room / (IP log)

or if one asks to take convo to skype / (IP log/ contacts/ email)

or asks for what group you are member of/ (full monitoring)

even if any (prominent member) asks for good places for trade or something or other...

Although it is bit of extreme, when "one" is targeted...

Obviously, that's how search engines work. :P No really, Google and other search engine's bots go through almost all the sites on the visible internet and that is how search results appear on Google. That is why Google used to be known as the hackers best tool, provided that the hacker knows how to make use of it. Having said, I know you are talking about different bots here, which is possible, but it's unlikely that a certain tracking bot would signup and read things not available for guests here.

Having said, it's sad to hear what you had to go through, was it software or something else.

Coming back to the topic. As someone who has closely seen badware writers working - not necessarily to harm anyone though, I can tell you that there are some simple ways to bypass AVs, but, AVs too are smart these days, it's not easy to play tricks with any file to prevent detection and AV letting it go through. Meaning, for basic things, yes, AVs are still required I think.
