Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is considered to be the next step in the detection and removal of malware. In our product we have compiled a number of new technologies that are designed to quickly detect, destroy, and prevent malware. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware can detect and remove malware that even the most well known anti-virus and anti-malware applications fail to detect. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware monitors every process and stops malicious processes before they even start. The Realtime Protection Module uses our advanced heuristic scanning technology which monitors your system to keep it safe and secure. In addition, we have implemented a threats center which will allow you to keep up to date with the latest malware threats.

Thanks to vissha for the update.

This is the previous beta released as a final. Same issues with performance, cpu usage, memory hogging, frequent errors requiring restarts, etc. When asked why they would release the bug filled beta as a final release with no fixes the Admin replied " Hi there, we've launched the product. We realize that not all bugs were addressed and have updates planned through the rest of the year

This is not the way to run a business. Users trusted the brand to only release a finished product.

I just restored my PC to an earlier image. When I click to update the definitions it says it can't find an internet connection. WTF. I can also report the old fix doesn't work anymore. I reference the license.conf file fix.

That's the answer that tells you just don't use it because company made it final and they know it have many bugs that they should fix during beta first but simply they don't care and they will fix it during next 365 days Lol

Funny they know these bugs and still said it's 4x faster Lol

Strange, they are still updating the database of my 2-version , but no program-update ( to latest 3-version) is offered.............

Will keep this version as long as it updates the database !

My portable anti-rootkit ( mbar) works and updates also .

Agree , only problem is ; the previous versions are , soon ( ??), not supported anymore .

This means no updating database , which makes it a worthless scanning-tool.

Maybe have to look for other ( better and not bloated ) anti-malware in future , untill they make this beta a REAL FINAL..............!

They had v1 updates  the whole time v2 was out for 3 years . if you’re  that worried about it go ask malwarebytes about  it.  Don't presume they will just kill updates most anti malware soft don’t do that tell some years latter ..

" most anti malware soft don’t do that tell some years latter .. "  hope you are right !

Then we can still use our v2 , without upgrading (?) to this v3.............:D

I repair PCs for a living, and I honestly believe that Malwarebytes is still relying on its "once great" reputation.

In the early days of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, it was excellent at removing malware. In fact, for a short time I believe it was the best.

But those days are long gone, and Malwarebytes is struggling to remain relevant.

In the past few years it has relied on detecting mostly harmless PUPs to keep it going for ignorant users.

Malwarebytes purchased Junkware Removal Tool and AdwCleaner to try to stay on top, but I can't see that saving them.

I have even seen posts by the Malwarebytes owner that there is no guarantee that AdwCleaner will even be developed anymore. So, it appears to me that they have just taken out the opposition by buying them.

I do NOT believe that Malwarebytes is relevant anymore.

Stig, please share a good alternative then?

Do you want a removal tool or a resident application?

Malwarebytes was once a great removal tool. I have never seen any resident benefits from it, but it is now claiming to be improved.

The best simple tools for removing malware are/were the ones that Malwarebytes recently purchased, which are Junkware Removal Tool and AdwCleaner.

I mostly do manual removal. Knowledge of a system and where malware is loading and running from is the best way to remove malware if tools fail.

Common sense is the very best option to prevent malware.

For the best resident application that doesn't tax your system... Probably avast! with the [File System Shield (only)] And that's FREE. You don't need all the other Browser and Email crap.

Don't tax your systems with all the other crap that developers try to sell to make a living.

Even Windows Defender will do for most users.

You know the funny thing is? A savvy user doesn't need any antivirus.

I spend my life removing malware from computers, but my main computer doesn't have a resident application running.

I don't have issues with malware. Users are the ones that install malware.

You'll get people say this and that, and that this is great and that is great, but the reality is that if have a bit of common sense, then you don't need all that flab.

Keep it simple. :)

PS:

What is more important is to have a good backup regime.

And that is not so much for malware protection, but for hardware failure.

Macrium Reflect will fill your needs in this department.

I too repair PC`s for a living, and it has been a while since i used malware bytes to remove the malware. I was using it a lot a few years back, along side SAS. Not used it and my lifetime license for quite a few years now.

I totally agree with you.

Malwarebytes is not required anymore.

I used to use Malwarebytes years ago from time to time when Antivirus fail to detect any viruses at this time i was testing many Antivirus products like Avira or Avast or NOD32 or Norton or Kaspersky Or Bitdefender and others

But each Antivirus have problems like Bitdefender is very heavy on system whatever how fast your pc is it will kill it's speed

I used Malwarebytes just to scan and remove it again because it's also heavy and slow down the system

But it's been more than 7 years i never used it i only use NOD32 and never got infected, Some of my customers got infected and i found they removed NOD32 and installed another Antivirus or NOD32 stopped updating for longtime and the customer is just ignored it lol

I just keep Malwarebytes incase i need it anytime nothing more

I still have 1.75.0.1300 installed and it's still receives definition updates. It's the Pro version.

Funny thing is, I never need to use it (the scanner or real time protection) as I don't get malware or other nasties.

Same with Anti-virus.

I've never had anything wrong in over 12 years I've had a computer/internet.

I use this also... I NEVER upgrade, only update malware database... I also do NOT use the resident features... ONLY use to scan and remove malware manually every few weeks!

Works just fine & NO BLOAT!!
