Hi Everyone,

Firstly, many thanks for everybody's patience. We've been very busy over the last few months working on the next update and are pleased to say Online Multiplayer is now released.

It's a free update, so existing owners can log into the Steam console to download the upgrade, and new owners will automatically receive it as part of the full game.

To make way for multiplayer the physics engine required a complete overhaul, and as such I'm afraid the saved shots, breaks, and speed pool times will need to be reset again, since the data format has changed. This was completely unavoidable, and many apologies for this. However, all game progress data has been preserved (trophies, unlocked opponents and membership cards).

We hope you find the interface easy to use. Simply choose 'Multiplayer' from the 'Game Mode' menu to enter the lobby. Here you can chat to other players, select the game type and number of frames, and send game invites. Then accept a return-invite off another player to start a game. You can also chat to other players in-game by bringing up the main menu (chat can also be turned off from the options menu). If no players are currently active, then to save you waiting around, select the 'Push Notifications' option before you exit the lobby. Then you can go off to play against the computer, or practice, and the game will tell you when other players have joined. Or you can 'Alt+tab' out, and a bell will ring when someone appears.

We hope in time the lobby fills up nicely, and if you have friends on Steam with the game then invite them to play! Players with the non-Steam retail version can connect with Steam players in the lobby too.

As always, we appreciate your feedback and will do our best to help grow the online community. Thanks again for supporting the game!

Here is a full list of the multiplayer features:

- Online multiplayer for 2 players. Choose from 8-ball (US or European rules), 9-ball or 6-ball pool, Snooker (with 15, 10 or 6 reds) and Killer Pool. Single game, best of 3 or best of 5.
- Lobby and in-game chat.
- Earn 'Reputation Points' for a win, and improve your ranking (star rating).
- New multiplayer trophy to collect, and a new Steam Achievement.
- New Steam Leaderboard that tracks multiplayer scores.

Extra Cue Club 2 improvements:

- More responsive physics engine allowing for better cue control and trick-shots.
- Pool and snooker balls have been made about 3% smaller for increased realism, better pocket action, and improved playability.
- Introduction of European/UK 8 ball rules (in addition to American 8 ball), which are fully customisable, with separate ball sets and table design settings for these game types.
- Left mouse button now cancels a shot that is being set up.
- Visual improvements to main menus and in-game menus.
- Visual improvements to pool and snooker tables.
- Difficulty of top level AI players has been toned down.
- Various minor bug fixes.
