Anti-doping agencies urge IOC to suspend Russian team from Olympics

The International Olympic Committee received an urgent letter from more than a dozen national anti-doping organisations on Wednesday night urging it to immediately suspend the Russian Olympic Committee and provisionally ban all Russian athletes from the Rio Olympics.

The letter, seen by the Guardian and addressed directly to the IOC president, Thomas Bach, warned him that he needed to fulfil his obligation to take the toughest possible sanctions against “institutionalised, government-run doping and abuse of athletes” to ensure the integrity of the Olympic Games.

However, it said Russian athletes could compete in Rio under a neutral flag if a task force approved by the IOC and World Anti-Doping Agency verified they were clean, “thereby striking a fair balance between your stated concerns between collective responsibility and individual justice so that no truly clean elite Russian athlete is barred from the Rio Olympic Games”.

most likely they will be too afraid to ban them... if they really checked hard everyone running the premiere running events will be  found to be doping

haha this is what you get for being too greedy, they would have picked only a couple of disciplines, like everyone and all would have been good. but no they wanted all the gold medals

Use of state sponsored stimulants in Russia is inherited from the Communist system and actually it's widespread in all countries with state sponsored sports, where governments use results or "well planified sports" for the "regime's" publicity.

I firmly believe some of CHINA'S outstanding results from latest games are due to the use of forbidden stimulants.

when the guy caught doping wins the 100-yard premier event and the silver medalist is a few thousands of a second behind him what other conclusions can one come to...not only that there is much evidence out there from former athletes, all high  with high rankings as to where they stood in the top 10 when they were active in the sport...pretty much all of them have said everyone was doing it ...and that they did not get caught because most of the time the people supplying the steroids  were also supplying masking agents to take  so the steroids would not show up on tests... not to mention that with today's technology to find steroids...when the testers took the samples kept  from years and years back and  did blind testing so as not to know which  athletes  had supplied those samples.from the past...ALL tested positive...this evidence is out there but well hidden as western countries, although did not do this as a state sponsored act, also knew quite a lot of the world's top ranked athletes were doping on their own in order to compete...sort of like saying there was no proof of cheating by judges in winter Olympic and  world figure and dance skating...until some of them confessed years later
