I just use Defender with a bunch of exclusions do to my various "special" things which allow me to run certain programs.  I never have any problems.

@dcs18 Should I disable MBAM real time protection ? or disable MSE ?

BTW: I'm on win 7 x64 c2d 4GB DDR2

replaced MSE with ESET NOD32 AV 11.1.54.0 (needs advice from dcs18 )

MBAM premium is there but only as a backup (not running)

Sounds like a good plan, Jime234. F3h9xqz.gif

I am currently using the standard Windows 10 security system. Plus:

Zemana AntiLogger,
Shadow Defender,
Adguard.
For periodic check I use the utility Dr.Web CureIt!
Sometimes I use VPN services.
And while no problems were found.

Kaspersky Free Antivirus 19.  It's light, effective, and well behaved.

OSArmor, WFC, Sandboxie. Minimal performance impact.

Yes Jime234, those about:config entries should be good to disable Telemetry and Data Collection — however, can't validate all those entries since they're meant for the Quantum and I'm on the ESR channel.

From the multi-level protection point-of-view, I also use some rules on my firewall as an additional layer of defense — in case you're interested, shall be happy to post them for you. ;)

Oh ! I understand.

I'm interested in anything protection  related, so please do post.

(I'm not as smart as you are, I like to keep things as simple as possible, some of your posts are tough for me to understand but I try)

I block the following IPs to prevent Firefox Telemetry and Data Collection + auto-program updates (the add-on update is not affected, though):—

mostwanted

WFC firewall and good ole common sense, however, I've been looking into TinyWall but, I'm thinking I will just exclusively switch over to Linux either ubuntu, mint or fedora. I'm getting tired of Windows now tbh

Hello k2a,

I'm running a older version of ESET NOD32 AntiVirus — you might want to opt for the latest, though.

Have never had the occasion to try out the Endpoint — however, others who have used it seem to find it superior.

My reason for using a older version is that the V8 is the last one that can be fixed by the box, mara- patch — it might not be the best medicine but it sure complements my laziness.

I like to disable most of the real-time scanning and HIPS modules — my expectation from a AntiVirus is just the basic protection for the USB ports.
