Well I have a new setup for the moment. I have ESET Nod32, Private Firewall, MBAM, Shadow Defender & WinPatrol. When I get brave enough I am going to turn off ESET Nod 32 & Private Firewall while in Shadow Defenders, Shadow Mode.

We have almost the same setup...what's your setting with PF?

Mine...Privatefirewall | ESET NOD32 Antivirus | NoVirusThanks EXE Radar Pro | WinPatrol Plus

did a change in my config :

Realtime protection : Bullguard Internet Security ( activated with a genuine License key , which I got a sweet deal on 3 years for 40 euros )

this suite is running so smooth on my machine , really love it....

for on demand scanners I use mbam and hitman pro , plus some special cleaning tools on a usb stick :)

My main real-time protection software is Avast! Internet Security 2014.

I also have sub-scanner software in my Computer, such as ESET Portable, MBAM Portable, HitMan Pro, Avira PE.

Suspicious files or links in my computer are always checked by virustotal.com before opening,

2 browsers which I prefered are Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. All of them are installed Web of Trust and Avast! Online Security to check the reputation of websites. I also installed ScriptSafe for Chrome and NoScript for firefox to provide an extra line of defense.

My passwords are managed by LastPass, so I can feel free to protect any account with a strong password without forgetting it because I only need a master password to access all of my accounts :)

P/S: Actually I don't care about the existance of any security software in my computer as I know the best way to protect the computer from malicious softwares is by your self and the only thing you need is skills to manually prevent malware from infecting your computer :) My computers haven't been infected by any kind of malwares for about three years, although I always have a couple of malware samples stored in my hard drives for testing :)

  • 2 weeks later...

First of all BIOS pass on, BIOS HD pass on.
Windows related:
AV and Firewall: WSA 8

Anti-key: Keyscrambler 3

Anti-exploit: MBA 0.09

Browser: Chrome with Donottrack on + DonotrackMe 8 (just to make sure cuz they dont hear me xD)

Proxy: Privoxy 3

Picture logging: Cyberlink youcam 5 for windows and some websites

Easy setup, very light and i do advise to copy it xD

Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year.

Right now MS Security Essentials.. (like the lightweight) And MBAM and SB S&D if needed.. And a HOSTS file block! And a simple router firewall..

But Im thinking of going back to NOD Antivirus..

I have an old machine and XPSP3

I use :WinPatrol (great!!) + Firewall (Sygate) + Avast (not all the features, it would slow down the machine)
