Upgrading from Windows 8.1 OEM to 10 Pro

Hey,

I've been reading in the forums for quite some time now.
As the time limit for the free upgrade approaches, I wanted to upgrade my MSI laptop which has Windows 8.1 OEM installed.

Unfortunately that only entitles me to a Windows 10 Home installation.

What would be the upgrade path to end up with a Windows 10 Pro installation preferrably without having to reinstall? Upgrade 8.1 Pro, activate it with Daz or similar?

My fallback solution would be to clean install 7 Ultimate and go on from there.

Thank you!

If you want win 10 pro you must at least have win 7 pro or ultimate installed and upgrade from there the legit way.

other you can di is make clean install win 7 ultimate activate with daz and wait for the free upgrading to win 10 shows up, follow instruks and you will be fully activated, recomend after make backup of the activation when win10 is installed, and then do a clean install of win 10 pro restore activation and all should be fine.

First of all you can upgrade without reinstalling clean windows...but i need to know right now you have retail windows on your laptop? it's easy but you should know that upgrading is cool and easy way for get free license ,and before you should uninstall some softwares if you already install them: winrar, clone virtual,Nero, ccleaner, etc

Hey, thanks for your replies.

I've been able to upgrade my Windows 8.1 to Pro using a "found" key (courtesy to @bdyekita), activating it using something called "windows 8.1 permanent activation" (I was skeptic at first, but it seems like some custom KMS activation process), then upgrading to 10 Pro, resulting in a legit license.
