This week the folks at Samsung and AT&T have revealed the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, a slightly more rugged edition of the smartphone line. This version of the device comes in three colors: Sandy Gold, Titanium Gray, and Camo Green. You'll be able to find this device in the United States at AT&T exclusively, starting on the 10th of this June, 2016 - that's just a few days from now.

 

This device has many specifications that match the Galaxy S7, including the processor, display, and cameras. This device has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 MSM8996 with 2x CPU cores clocked at 2.15 GHz and 1.6GHz.

 

The display on this machine is 5.1-inches diagonally with Quad-HD (2K) (2560 x 1440 pixel) resolution. Under the hood you'll find 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. There's also a microSD card slot that can hold a card up to 200GB large.

 

The cameras on this device is 12MP (dual-pixel) with LED flash, autofocus, and f/1.7 aperture. That's on the backside. On the frontside you'll be working with the same sort of aperture with 5MP shooting.

Above and below you'll find the three color versions of this device - wildly different from one another. The green camo and sand colors are not available as original Galaxy S7 units - the gray is very similar to the gray you can get with the original Galaxy S7.

 

Inside is Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow right out the box as well as LTE bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 20, 29, 30, 38, 39, 40, and 41. This AT&T version means you've also got GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900MHz, and 3G-UMTS 850/900/1900/2100MHz.

 

Also inside is a 4,000 mAh battery with the ability to work with adaptive fast charging and wireless charging.

There's also NFC and MST-friendly Samsung Pay for wireless payment action.

This device's biggest unique bits include IP68 certification against water and dust, a customizable Active Key, and a "shatter resistant screen." This phone is also just a bit larger than its closest relative, coming in at 148.8 X 75.0 X 9.9 mm with a weight of 185g.
