Hi, I am looking for a video card that will be good for a person new to gaming, nothing high end in a video card but good enough for basic gaming. I am looking to spend around $80 to $100.

thx

I would suggest you wait a little. While it may take some time for it, newer gen graphics cards, which are going to be almost double as faster as previous ones, are going be released in about a few months.

If not, then here is another list. While AMD and nVidia both have good cards. I would recommend GTX 950 here, but it's expensive than what you want here.

HD 530 is good for basic games at low setting, I guess.

Definitely go for AMD Radeon cards, they have unmatched price to performance ratio. I suggest you go to AMD's official website

http://shop.amd.com/en-us/components/graphic-cards

http://www.amd.com/en-us

if you could wait for their next gen Polaris 10 and 11 graphic cards which are going to be released in early summer then that would be great because they are game changing!

anyway, even if you're just stepping into the gaming world that price limit is too low, any card you buy under 100$ for today's games you'll definitely regret the second you start that game.

so if you're intending to buy one now, I'd suggest this one:

price:  120$

Model: PowerColor Radeon R9 270 (AXR9 270 2GBD5-DHV2/OC) 2048MB PCIe Gen 3.0

  • 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5
  • Core Clock 930 MHz
  • Boost Clock 955 MHz
  • 1 x DL DVI-I 1 x HDMI 1 x DisplayPort
  • 1280 Stream Processors
  • PCI Express 3.0

it's better than all those models you listed above, the same VRAM but double bandwidth (i.e 128-bit vs. 256-bit) and that's an important factor you gotta consider because it prevents your card from throttling under high loads.

here's the comparison: (although I never suggest this website because they're paid to be unquestioned fan boys of Nvidia as people say)  http://gpuboss.com/gpus/Radeon-R9-270-vs-GeForce-GTX-750-Ti

unfortunately Nvidia's mass advertisements sometimes lead people not to consider better choices that come from the red team, AMD

:guns:

I suggest to wait a little for the AMD Polaris to show up. Nvidia Pascal VC showed already.
