   Windows Defender context menu integration

Microsoft claims Windows 10 is an operating system that’s mostly built with user feedback, so the company’s posting a series of “Made by You” articles in the Insider Hub to show how users who installed preview builds participated in the development of the product.

In the latest such article, Microsoft reveals that the Windows Defender context menu integration that’s now available in Windows 10 is a feature that was implemented following user feedback, as many insiders requested such a feature after installing early builds.

Thanks to this integration, users can right-click any file in Windows 10 and scan it instantly with Windows Defender and thus make sure that no malware reaches their data.

This is a feature that’s already available in third-party antivirus solutions, but since Windows Defender is already built into Windows 10, and many users don’t feel the need for another application of this kind, having context menu integration to quickly scan files is clearly helpful.

Back by popular demand

But what’s also interesting is that this feature was previously available in Windows 8, but Microsoft decided to remove it for some reason in the first builds of Windows 10, even though it’s pretty clear that this is a very useful features for the majority of us.

“As all may have seen, starting with Windows 10 Insider Preview build 10571 we added built-in context menu scan for Windows Defender. Yes, that is right, it is back!!! The most missed Windows 8 feature has returned by popular demand to Windows 10 platform because users like you have and upvoted feedback using the Feedback app,” the announcement Microsoft made in the Insider Hub reads.

Certainly, this feature is a welcome addition for those who want to stay away from malware, and given that Windows Defender is also becoming more powerful too, there’s little reason to get a third-party antivirus on Windows these days.

I never asked for that... there're more important things that this one, like fixing a ton of bugs and not adding new ones for every new build (at least, as insider I'm tired of reporting the same issues in every release... bleh)

But they ignore the gazillions of Windows 7 and 8.1 users who are screaming at them that they do NOT want to upgrade to WIndows 10 and to leave them alone with the nagging, bullying, forcing, bribing unethical behaviour.

And equally ignored are those demanding they get rid of the mystery-cumulative-forced-system-borking updates.

Selective deafness...

Some people wouldn't know what's good for them if you shoved it right in their faces..

LMAO, that was a stupid useless feature for 2 reasons.

#1 who the hell uses Windows Defender? It was a piece of shit from the day it ever came out, just like Internet Explorer & Edge. I always disabled it and never used that crap. To add that into context menu is a waste of space, lmao. Run the Winrar keygen in Windows 10 with Windows Defender on and watch your computer explode, it will constantly clean and quarantine the keygen even though its not there, it really screwes up the computer. You have to add the mysteriously deleted file to your exclusions list. So for the love of god, to save yourself a hassle don't run the WinRaR keygen in Windows 10 with defender on. Don't believe me? Run it on a VM and test it out for yourself.

#2 If you wanted this stupid feature in context menu, you could have added it back with 3rd party app: Ultimate Windows Tweaker 10 not only does it add this Defender crap to context menu, but you can add a ton of other items like all modern crAPPS, and regular programs like notepad, paint, control panel, reg edit, shutdown, restart, etc.

If 3rd party users come out with this faster then MicroShit it shows you how stupid they are and how the developers really don't give a shit about Windows 10 users. There are already 3 different 3rd party apps that you can add tabs to explorer Windows. Just google it, they all work for W10 and are freeware.

Personally I hate the fact in the W10 concept video that they want to remove explorer and make it modern UI like Settings menu and cater to the fucking tablet homos. That pisses me off.

I like my explorer Windows with RIBBON ON like introduced in W8.1 that is a cool feature and I use it a lot. Add tabbed browsing to that and your amazing, why remove it and replace it with modern UI, no side panel no ribbon, nothing, Plain and bland and AGAIN catered to TABLET assholes. I don't have a fucking gay tablet, I use a PC, not some piece of shit that plays angry birds or candy crush. I use real applications and programs and games. Not retarded crAPPS. If I want to play that garbage I will do so on my android.

Retard HIPSTERS at MS these days, trying to copy apple. Sad times indeed.

Indeed, just as some people know what's bad for them, even if it  IS shoved right in their faces. :)

And, if it IS so good for them, why does it need to be shoved right in their faces? IME, if it has to be shoved right in people's faces, it's a crap product. :)
