Batu69 Posted February 5, 2016 Share Posted February 5, 2016 Doctors in India have found a giant ants’ nest in the ear of a 12-year-old girl Itchy, itchy: Shreya Darji, 12, from Deesa, western India, has around ten live ants crawl out of her ears daily Shreya Darji, from Deesa, Gujurat, told doctors that ants began to crawl out of her ears in August last year and around 10 live ants now crawl out of her ears every day. So far doctors have removed more than 1,000 ants from Shreya’s ears. ‘We have conducted all possible scans on the child including an MRI and CT scan but they are all normal,’ said Dr Jawahar Talsania, senior Ear, Nose and Throat surgeon. ‘We cannot find any abnormality in her ears. She doesn’t experience any kind of pain – despite the ants biting her – and no damage has been found to the eardrums. Doctors have removed more than 1,000 ants from Shreya’s ears ‘The family live a normal life and they have a healthy environment so we can’t even blame their living conditions. We’ve not seen anything like this in our medical history.’ Dr Jawahar, 58, has tried to suffocate the ants but they continue to breed. Pequi Posted February 6, 2016 Share Posted February 6, 2016 If you ever get a bug in your ear, lie down ear-up and pour (cold, preferably unused) cooking oil into it. It will drown them very quickly and they can't get a foothold to bite or sting you or burrow into your eardrum. Water or even alcohol will make them more irritated. Then go see a doctor and he will syringe the dead bug out with warm water. As to the story, obviously a hoax. Unless she has a bee-hive in there.
