Locals are left with plenty of questions after spotting a mysterious bright light in the sky over Siberia on Nov. 2015. Eyewitnesses described the phenomena as "scary but beautiful". The flying object that zoomed over the city of Omsk was also seen far to the south in Astana, Kazakhstan's capital, The Siberian Times reported. In a second video, the flying mystery object was captured zooming above the Omsk branch of the Swedish furniture outlet, Ikea. While residents feared it may be of extraterrestrial origin after a previous fireball woke up Siberia,, igniting social media with theories and conjecture, scientists have another theory. "It is definitely not a comet," astronomers at the Siberian State University planetarium told local media. The flying object witnesses saw may have simply been an example of Russia testing its military might. The astronomers believe that the "the object was the second stage of intercontinental ballistic missile 'Topol' launched at 15:12 Moscow time from Kapustin Yar cosmodrome in Astrakhan region." The official Russian news agency Tass said a missile was launched but did not confirm the site of the missile launch nor if it was what residents actually saw. Whatever the aerial phenomena was, concerned Russian civilians are watching the skies in greater numbers – ever ready to record strange phenomena.
