Here are some suggestions to address the bug

Windows 10 Threshold 2 was launched last week, but some people are still waiting to get the new version in Windows Update, even if they’re already on RTM.

But a bunch of unlucky Windows 10 users have already received Threshold 2, but it fails to install because of an error that seems to freeze the deployment at different moments during the process.

As we already told you last week, Microsoft recommends users to remove their SD cards from devices that are being upgraded to Windows 10 Threshold 2 because there is a bug that causes the process to get stuck at 44 percent.

But despite this recommendation, it turns out that the issue is still taking place. And what’s more, some are seeing it on devices without SD cards.

Just try this

After searching the web for solutions on what seems to be a common Threshold 2 problem, we’ve drawn up this list of recommendations:

1. Disable antivirus solutions and other security apps that might block the process
2. Unplug all peripherals that you don’t need (you should keep only the mouse and keyboard)
3. Check if your computer is fully up to date before launching the Threshold 2 install
4. Check if you’re running the latest versions of your drivers
5. Remove any CD or DVD from your optical drives
6. Unplug USB mouse when the process freezes
7. Disable all Microsoft services before starting the setup
8. Make sure you have enough space to install Threshold 2
9. Disable Secure Boot in BIOS
10. Try to update using the Media Creation Tool

If none of this works, then you should contact Microsoft or wait a little bit longer until the company comes up with a fix, as the Windows team is already looking into all these reports and developing a patch. No release date is available for the moment, tough.

Right, the average user is going to know how to do all this or even know about these various 'fixes' for software that shouldn't be broke if it is as great as everyone is saying it is. How can it be great if you can't even install it?

Yes, You are right. But in addition to this I add that these recommendations are still very funny.

They should be available in section "joke of the day".
