Less than an hour ago, MIcrosoft's Gabe Aul announced the release of Windows 10 build 10565. This is the latest build to hit the Windows Insider program for those participating in the fast ring. While not everyone will participate or download the latest update, we thought it pertinent to share some of the new features that accompany the new build.

Skype

Skype will now offer integration in Windows 10 for the first time thanks to the latest build. The new app will allow you to respond directly within Windows without opening the Skype app directly. The integration will cascade to Windows 10 Mobile when an updated build is released.

Edge

Microsoft's browser is slowly but surely improving as new builds and updates arrive to Windows 10. Today, build 10565 introduces the ability for Edge to show webpage thumbnail previews when hovering over a tab. Although not fully fleshed out, Insiders will also get their first taste of syncing within Edge for their Favorites and Reading list items.

Cortana

Cortana is without a doubt an important part when it comes to experience throughout all of Microsoft's products. The personal digital assistant has now been updated to keep track of your free time activities like movies and event reminders. It is capable of doing this through your email notifications and will notify you of an upcoming event two hours prior to the events start time. For those that are utilizing a touch enabled device, Cortana can also now register your inked notes and will now set reminders based on location, times and numbers.

UI

Based on user input, build 10565 has been updated with the ability to color match the title bars according to your selected theme. Those interested in the title bar customization will want to head to Settings > Personalization > Colors. Microsoft has also added a new batch of icons for the build and improved some context menus in the process.

Lastly, those that have struggled in the past to activate their version of Windows 10 can now just simply enter their Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 product key. Naturally, it has to be a valid version, but should make activating or updating to Windows 10 a bit easier.

Be sure to check out the latest build by opting into the fast ring for the Windows Insider program. There are known issues and bug fixes for the latest version and we should have detailed screen shots of the OS up shortly.

They did with XP and then with 7, but have been screwing the pooch ever since. For years it was referred to as MicroSuks but now it is MicroSuksAndBlows.

This is true because they want be no windows 11 ..But this is will be long ways off maybe 2 years from now . Microsoft don't even know how this process of being a semi service is going to work themselves . If it don't work out for them they will come up with a different idea . ;)

Its not going be very much different than it is now . What will be different will be it will be windows 10 . But what want be different once windows 7 end of life comes . The version of windows 10 you have when end of mainstream support comes if you want keep receiving new windows 10 features you're going to have to buy it . There not going keep giving you new features forever. It would be a total lost for M$

Once it does get stable its up to you do you want keep updating it . If you want to keep using old apps you need to keep a version of windows 7 or windows 8.1. If you use Windows 10 you need practice what they call (Application Readiness) This means you must use new/updated apps and as time goes many of the apps that work on Win7 and Windows 8.1 may not work anymore. But this is not nothing new there's many old apps that work in XP that don't work in windows 7 or newer. :)

all fine and dandy...IF you got cortana actually up and running in your country...hardly anyone does

I want never use this service but all these bugs in there O/S are 75% of why Windows 10 has done no better than it has after all its free if you install it before July 2016.. I say there is only like 25% that are concerned with privacy . If they were really the would not use phones and Google and other Data collecting apps . The numbers that use these things shows most don't care. The version that comes out Service Release 1 later on was the version we should had got to begin with. They pushed a pre-release out on everyone in July and windows 10 was meant to come out GA in October.

Windows 10: Shiny new Microsoft OS isn't enough to stop people turning their backs on PCs

WINDOWS 10 might have breathed new life into your old PC – but it hasn't motivated anyone to buy a new PC, according to new data.

Both technology market research firms Gartner and IDC have estimated PC sales plummeted by some 7.7 or 10.8 per cent year-on-year, during the third quarter – after new Windows arrived.

A slump of 10.8 per cent is one of the largest drops in a recent quarter.

Gartner and IDC analysts believe the slump in hardware sales can be explained by Microsoft's rush to deliver Windows 10 before summer.

The fast-paced development meant PC manufacturers shipped existing hardware with the new operating system, which was not enough on its own to drive up sales.

Acer and ASUS were some of the worst affected firms – with sales dropping by 10 per cent. Dell, HP and the market leader, Lenovo weathered the hardware slump.

It remains to be seen whether the manufacturer's new hardware, built to work alongside Microsoft's latest operating system, fares any better.

Microsoft recently announced its own laptop, dubbed the Surface Book, at its annual hardware event.

The Redmond firm also announced a new Surface Pro hybrid, a second Microsoft Band fitness tracker and two new Microsoft Lumia smartphones.

Windows 10 is nothing but a Rush job and nothing can change this but M$ only them making Windows 10 stable would help them. :P

And there's no hope for those who install it because they only updated there O/S not there hardware to get any real benefit from it . Old PC with a new O/S is still a old PC and most likely the old O/S they had will work better on it
