Gabe Aul says more time needed to fix a challenging bug

Microsoft promised to release new Windows 10 builds for PCs and mobile devices after its hardware event on October 6 and now everyone has high hopes that the company can push the green button sometime this week.

Gabriel Aul, head of the Windows Insider program, said in a tweet today that both Windows 10 Mobile and Windows 10 for PCs builds are advancing well, but in the case of the latter, there's just one more challenging bug to fix before everyone gets it.

Aul explained that the Windows team needs more time to deal with it, so the release of the PC version might be pushed back for a few more days.

Does this mean that we might also have to wait longer for the mobile version? Aul hasn't said anything about such a thing, but he previously hinted that the company might be planning to roll out both new builds together. And yet, since the PC version is holding back the plan, the mobile build could go live as soon as today if everything goes according to the plan.

Windows 10 Mobile coming in December

Microsoft has two more months to finalize work on Windows 10 Mobile because the new operating system rollout will officially begin in December.

The official Facebook account of Microsoft Lumia confirmed the planned timing yesterday, so the company can focus more on improving performance of the operating system these days.

Word has it that the RTM version of Windows 10 Mobile is near, so engineers have already started working on fixing bugs and making the OS more stable and reliable, which means that new breaking features are very unlikely to show up in the next builds.

As said, the next mobile build could be pushed to insiders as soon as today, while the PC version might still be a few days away unless the challenging bug Aul was talking about hasn't been squashed over night.
