Do we really need a physical presence if the mind can be preserved? And how close are we to being able to transfer our consciousness to a computer? Scientists One Step Closer to Eternal Life: Just Upload Your Brain MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russia has developed technology that allows equipment to be controlled by the mind, head of Russian Fund for Perspective Research Andrei Grigoriev said Monday. "We have a project called the ‘mind-computer’ interface, which has been demonstrated numerous times. Federal agencies have already shown interest in [acquiring] the know-how. We have received requests for the intellectual property rights and the results [of the research] to be transferred to them in accordance with the law," Grigoriev told RIA Novosti. According to Grigoriev, at the moment the fund is working on correctly transferring the project.
