Sluggishness? Beside Malwarebytes and Windows Defender, do you run also a AV in real time?

Yes, of course, why not?

so which one is better this one or eset ?

They are different kind of tools. ESET is the kind of tool (AV) you must be running all the time in real time.

Use the free version of Malwarebytes (or a portable) every two weeks and you'll be ok.

Don't use Malwarebytes along with an antivirus (both monitoring your system in real time). It may even work, but you'll be asking for trouble.

NOT TRUE; AV + Malwarebytes is a perfect combination even with Malwarebytes real-time protection enabled

Which part is not true: "it may even work" or "you'll be asking for trouble"?

If it's working for you, keep it that way.

I run Malwarebytes in real time as well as Windows Defender.

What trouble do you think I may encounter?

My PC is not sluggish at all.

Both run in real time, so yes.

stick to the facts and produce proof!

Hmmm... Nope. I will not even try to produce any "proof".

I was just trying to help a boy from Mauritania who doesn't know the difference between antimalware and antivirus.

If you want to advise him to do the opposite of what I said, go ahead! As a matter of fact, you did it already...

Don't pay attention to what I'm saying. Close your eyes to what this experienced guy wrote (in this very page of this thread!)

This an excellent forum to share software. Let's keep things this way.

Peace!

I'm not closing my eyes to what anybody writes or says; november_ra1n in that post is only sharing his experience on HIS machine + his opinion about Malwarebytes real time protection. Everybody has the right to have their own opinion about anything but I'm just talking FACTS here

I'm not closing my eyes to what anybody writes or says; november_ra1n in that post is only sharing his experience on HIS machine + his opinion about Malwarebytes real time protection. Everybody has the right to have their own opinion about anything but I'm just talking FACTS here

Imagine some person that say: "I have smoked for thirty years and never had a heart attack, or a stroke, or a lung cancer. Therefore, cigarettes and such diseases are not related. And I'm talking about facts! I've been smoking for thirty years, so I'm the living proof of that!"

So, the fact that you and others are running a bunch of programs at the same time does not prove nothing. Don't forget that I said in the first place: "It may even work".

Now prove me that cigarettes have nothing to do with heart attacks, strokes or cancer.

No, no, that's not the question, sorry!

Just prove me instead that a machine running the "ABC" antivirus plus the "XYZ" antimalware (both in real time) does not run slower than the very same machine running ONLY the "ABC" AV.

Next, prove that the difference of performance cannot be noticed (or even cause problems) in old machines.

And finally, prove me that, statistically speaking, all computers in Mauritania are much more powerful than the computers in England or Holland.

The truth is: I have started a conversation with someone else (in order to help him) and you (out of the blue) have entered the conversation. To help anyone? NO! Just to say that the advice that I gave to the boy from Mauritania who does not know the difference between antivirus and antimalware... is not good for you and your first class system.

Of course is not.

If you think a.lemaine doesn't know the difference between anti-malware and anti-virus you're wrong again!

you entered the conversation and I replied; if you can't handle the fact of other members are proving you wrong don't come up with statements that are wrong! If you need to be top-dog with wrong advice use the pm system to make sure other members can't reply

peace-out

Let's put it this way: you learned nothing, but has not paid nothing. Therefore, we're even.

1- I learned nothing:

I did learn something; there are still people who refuse to learn anything

2- I have paid nothing:

I TRIED to teach you something but with no effect (see my original post //www.nsaneforums.com/topic/247733-malwarebytes-anti-malware-2181057/?p=949074 )

3- this is not a contest

this is my final reply to you because you're not worth the effort

peace-out

There cannot be absolutely no doubt - this. ESET - like castle in the sandbox, forget it forever.

I see a lot of folks moving away from MBAM - personally, hope MBAM regains its lost glory.

Would like to see them introduce a BootCD - that would make the Pros. take a second look at this once glorious scanner of second opinion.

[There seems to a lot of thoughtful discussion in this thread, so I'll post this here.]

I have this nasty little "DNSUnlocker" on my PC? Is this software something that can help with this? I was looking at this guide:http://malwaretips.c...locker-removal/? Do I really need to use Hitman Pro after using this?

I'm not sure that anyone is able to say exactly. You need to see for themselves what is necessary and what is not.

Of course, as far I can surely say that you have read a guide on bit wrong place.

What does "bit wrong place"? I am sorry, I don't understand...

MBAM can't compete with other options and just doesn't stack up these days.

This is a nasty one. Go to the best anti-malware forum and website there is. Bleeping Computer.

Follow this guide, and you will be fine.

One thing in the above process, I could never find an uninstall for DNSLocker.

EDIT: [A boot disk from MalwareBytes would be nice] Anyway, I just hope the link you provided is not just a variation on a theme from the guide I followed. I'll report back when I have time tonight to do this...
