Unlike the one that bears the name of a forbidden fruit and engages in reverse engineering. Google wants to create clothing with sensors that control your smartphone, computer screens etc.At its annual Developer Conference in San Francisco yesterday, Google revealed through its ATAP division(Advanced Technology and Projects) a project called 'project Jacquard' in partnership with U.S jean maker Levi Strauss to make interactive fabric by weaving conductive yarn or thread into them. The conductive threads or textile sensors are touch-sensitive and could allow you control your smartphone. There is a chip that interprets signals like touches from the conductive yarn, and sent the signals wirelessly to smartphones to enable certain actions.For instance, pick and make phone calls, control light bulbs and make drawings on computer screens etc just by taping or swiping them. The conductive yarn act like the trackpad of your computer or touch-screen. So you don't have to pull out your phone when a call comes in.Interesting right? Just pray that Project Jacquard see the light of day. Your jean, jacket, car seat etc. will be used to do so many things, like control the music on your handset.
