november_ra1n Posted May 28, 2015 Share Posted May 28, 2015 Windows 10 sign-off is slated for mid July [Rumor] Microsoft has said that Windows 10 will be released this Summer and according to the current roadmap, the middle of July is targeted for signoff of the new OS, according to two insiders familiar with the company's plans. Of course, plans can still change but this timeline has been on the books for several weeks with no current sign of slippage. Windows 10 is Microsoft's attempt to make a single OS for all types of devices. Unlike Windows 8, Microsoft has made the core of Windows 10 work on everything from the phone to the desktop, and even the Xbox One too. With a new app strategy that focuses on Universal Apps, this new version of Windows is correcting the mistakes of Windows 8. Microsoft is moving aggressively with Windows 10 by offering it for free as an upgrade for the first year and they have already said that additional updates will be free as well. Currently, Microsoft is publicly testing out build 10122 with Insiders, while build 10130 is being used internally by around 1,500 staff, and the company is adding the final few tweaks to the UI while squashing bugs as well. This is not the first time we have heard July as the target for RTM; AMD previously accidently let the cat out of the bag about the release date and with our sources now confirming this is the target, it's looking like Windows 10 will be all set for the back-to-school shopping season. They ain't even done patching Windows XP, lol.I get your point though. Microsoft typically releases trash, and after a couple of years of fixes it finally becomes useable. Hopefully the Insider program changes that, and helps make Windows 10 a more stable release at RTM*.*Windows 7 was essentially just Vista refined, so 7 was probably the best quality RTM Microsoft ever produced up until now.
