I wonder if they will actually start scanning for threats instead of using global black listing in their poor excuse for an anti-virus program... ESET has no integrity, it belongs deep inside a latrine, they lie to customers and make them think the program is actually scanning for threats and malware on websites but no it just uses blanket global black listing which is the lazy method for poor protection. Websites can change, domains can be bought over, it will remain classified as malware to ESET since they do not actually scan for virus. ESET= pig shit + dog shit + horse shit + donkey shit. Just my opinion... :P Come to think of it the one time I got infected by a virus was years ago and I was using NOD32 v2.5 which was the latest at the time so I guess they were always shit and I was just in denial all these years.

Really? Then how in the world was it able to protect me from a drive by trojan a few years back!?

Is that so...Just because you had a bad experience, which could easily have been attributed to some carelessness from your part, does not mean that its a bad AV.

No AV can protect anyone from their own negligence...As I have learned myself quite a few years back. And I was lucky enough to catch the bugger right away before it did any real damage.

Sounds like you are still in the denial phase :P Also it makes little sense and proves nothing to blame the victim of an attack if the protection failed. That's about as useful as saying it's the woman's fault she got raped, it's the driver's fault he got hit by another driver who was drunk, it's the Jew's fault Hitler killed his ass, makes sense much?

if you think ESET is crap I wonder what AV you're using...

AV is as good as the pc user and there's just no way it can protect your pc if you get infected because of your own actions

just my opinion ;)

I want new GUI like they did in Eset Endpoint

i hope they dont change it. i hate most of the new gui's these companies are using. eset is one of the very few left who still have a very clean non stupid metro looking gui.

I never had any problem with ESET but i'm good even without AV. ESET has the lowest false positives among all the antiviruses and no bugs or at least i didn't find 1 since i'm using it like from version 2. My other favorite is Kaspersky but it has a few bugs and bigger system impact.

Every infection or protection is because of your own actions, so according to what you've said it suggests that antivirus products do not work at all. I am yet to see a pc use itself, aren't you the one using your pc?

I too have always liked the eset gui. I find it to be in poor taste for companies to harass customers with social ads in their commercial product.

read my post again; I'm talking about a pc user; not about a pc using itself

2nd: I don't suggest av products don't work at all; I only say that av products can't avoid pc's getting infected if the person behind the pc is useless and not being carefull

Have not been infected in a really long time - this has been largely due a unequivocal reluctance in opting for keygens , patches, trial-resetters, loaders and pre-activations.

While I purchase most of my softz the others are procured with a great deal of paranoia - I use the following priorities to avoid infections:--

01.) Purchasing genuine stuff (1st priority)

02.) Serials / keys (2nd priority)

03.) Firewall blocks (3rd priority)

04.) Registry manipulations (4th priority)

One thing that really never changes is that its hard to have enough humility to blame yourself for your own mistakes and not someone or something else...
