Microsoft finally introduces this feature in Windows 10

Windows Hello was announced by Microsoft earlier this year as a feature that could make passwords obsolete and make Windows 10 more secure, and starting with build 10125, it finally becomes available for testing.

Windows 10 build 10125, which is reportedly being tested by partners as we speak, comes with Windows Hello available in the settings screen, allowing you to configure additional sign-in options and protect your PC with biometric authentication.

As you can see in these screenshots, Windows Hello requires you to set up a PIN before turning on the feature, and gives you the possibility to sign into Windows, apps, and services using your face and the built-in PC camera.

This camera scans your face and detects whether you should be allowed to log in or not, and you can configure Windows Hello to automatically unlock the screen if your face is recognized and require turning your head left and right to unlock the screen.

A wizard is also provided to help configure Windows Hello, so both beginners and more experienced users should be able to set it up in no time.

Windows Hello is very likely to be part of the next Windows 10 technical preview, but right now there are no specifics on when exactly it could arrive. Microsoft promised to ship Windows 10 builds at a faster pace, so expect a new one to be released in the coming weeks.
