Microsoft reissues one patch and adds 12 new fixes, including one for a problem with VM images in Azure that is poorly described in KB 3040272

Out of the blue on Tuesday afternoon, Microsoft released 13 patches through Automatic Update. The updates are optional, so they won't be installed unless you check the boxes and pull the trigger.

Here's a list of the 13 fixes:

KB 3019270 -- An update to remove duplicate descriptions for Office 365 integration in Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials. This update removes unnecessary descriptions and updates Office 365 integration links in the Integrate with Microsoft Office 365 wizard. This is a new patch (not a re-release).

KB 3029432 -- Addresses a problem with the logon process where new users take significantly longer as the number of user profiles increases in Windows Server 2012 R2 or Windows Server 2008 R2 with Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 clients. The logon process may take as long as 6 hours. Microsoft has released an update through Windows Update and Microsoft Download Center for Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2, and also released a hotfix for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. This is a new patch.

KB 3029603 -- This patch addresses the problem with the xHCI driver crashing after you resume from sleep mode in Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2. This issue occurs on Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) Carrizo processor-based PCs running Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2. This is a new patch.

KB 3034348 -- This is a reissued March 10 patch for the "Access denied" error when you use a Windows Store app to configure printer property settings in Windows. The issue occurs because a call that sets printer settings does not have admin access to the printer. Therefore, the Windows Store app cannot write values to the queue property bags. KB article is now up to version 4.

KB 3037313 -- This addresses the problem where old files are not removed after a migration of virtual machine storage in Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2. Assume that you try to perform a migration of virtual machine storage from a Cluster Shared Volume (CSV) to another CSV by using Failover Clustering Manager console or Virtual Machine Manager (VMM). After the virtual machine configuration, data files are migrated to another location. However, the files in the old location are not removed. This results in multiple copies of the virtual machine files, and also makes it difficult to track what data was actually moved and what was not. This is a new patch.

KB 3040272 -- This patch addresses an issue where start times increase after another language is added to VM images in Windows Server 2012. The problem occurs when you use another language in the filenames of virtual machine (VM) images in Azure. This is a new patch.

KB 3041857 -- An update to fix the "Code 0x80070057 The parameter is incorrect" error encountered when you try to display a user's "effective access" to a file. This is a new patch.

KB 3045634 -- This addresses a problem making a Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) connection after you reconnect a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) device if you have a computer running Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012 R2, or Windows 8. If you set up a PLC device on the computer, disconnect the device, and then reconnect it, in this scenario you can no longer make a PPP connection. This is a new patch.

KB 3045746 -- An update to fix a problem whereby a single string is drawn by multiple fonts in the TextBox control of Windows Store application in Windows. Assume that a Windows Store application has the MS Mincho font as the assigned font for the text box. It is expected that all the text in the text box should use the MS Mincho font except that the font does not have glyphs. However, another Japanese font is randomly used for the text. Therefore, the string is displayed as an unexpected layout in the text box. This is a new patch.

KB 3054464 -- Applications that use the AddEntry method may crash in Windows 8.1, Windows RT 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2. No additional information. This is a new patch.

KB 3054476 -- According to Microsoft, this update for stream.sys driver-based applications in Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 "helps Microsoft improve the experiences when users run stream.sys driver-based applications in Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, such as the performance and the quality improvements." This is a new patch.

KB 3055323 -- This update enables a security feature in Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2. It improves the security feature for the rgb9rast.dll binary in Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2. This is a new patch.

KB 3055999 -- An update to fix the APN database entry for Saskatchewan Telecommunications (SaskTel Canada) in Windows 8.1 and 8. This is a new patch.
