(AP) — Authorities have released the identity of the man fatally shot by a border agent on the U.S-Canada border in Washington state. The Whatcom County medical examiner says the man shot Thursday afternoon was 20-year-old Jamison E. Childress. No hometown was given. At a news conference Friday, a U.S. Customs and Border Protection official said the man was suspected of having illegally crossed the border. Whatcom County, Washington, Sheriff Bill Elfo said the man was wanted for a murder in another jurisdiction. He didn't provide further details. The man was approached by two border agents after setting off ground sensors.
