Metal Gear Solid fans have had to make do with the extremely short Ground Zeroes for almost a year now while they wait for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain to arrive. And now we finally have a date for the release. You’ll be able to pick it up on September 1st on PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360. However, you may not want to wait until launch day to grab a copy.

As you’d expect, Konami is producing a Collector’s Edition that’s already available to pre-order. It contains some great and also questionable items for your enjoyment. In terms of physical objects, alongside a copy of the game there will be exclusive packaging, an original steelbook, a behind the scene Blu-ray documentary and trailers compilation, and a map. As for the questionable inclusion–you’ll also find a half-scale replica of Snake’s bionic arm.

There’s also bonus content in-game if you pick-up this Collector’s Edition. An extra weapons pack will include 4 guns and 4 personal ballistic shields, a cardboard box pack which contains 3 boxes, 4 camouflage outfits for Snake to wear, a Metal Gear Online XP boost, and Metal Gear Online items including a Rex Helmet, Gold AM MRS-4, and Gold WU S. Pistol.

It looks likely the Collector’s Edition will cost around $100 (it’s listed as £99.99 in the UK). However, if you opt for the standard Day One Edition you’ll still get a few extras including an Adam-ska revolver, silver personal ballistic shield, wetland cardboard box, blue urban fatigues outfit, and a Metal Gear Online XP boost.

Gamers across Asian regions are also being offered a special limited edition PS4 for the launch, which you can see below:

Konami has also released a new video taking a look at Metal Gear Online, which has been developed by Kojima’s new Los Angeles division:

One final piece of good news that has come to light: PC gamers won’t be waiting long to get their hands on the title. Unlike GTA V, The Phantom Pain is expected to launch on Steam on September 15, just two weeks later.
