Microsoft used MWC 2015 not only to introduce the new Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL but also to unveil one of its latest projects that's supposed to make typing on a mobile device easier than any time before.

The so-called “Microsoft Universal Foldable Keyboard” is a brand new device that's supposed to make typing on mobile phones easier and faster and thus turn a smartphone into a full-featured productivity device that can be used on the go.

Details weren’t provided during Microsoft's MWC 2015 press conference and Julia White barely presented the new keyboard, but she did mention that the device comes with Bluetooth and is able to work with all mobile phones out there, including those powered by Android, iOS, and Windows Phone.
Since it features Bluetooth support, the keyboard can also be paired with tablets and any other device that would use such an accessory, so this is indeed one of the things that could really come in handy when trying to remain productive on the go.
Fully supported by Windows 10 for phones
Needless to say, the Microsoft Universal Foldable Keyboard will be fully supported by Windows 10 for phones, Redmond's new operating system that's scheduled to be launched later this year.
As far as specs are concerned, the company hasn't provided any, but as you can see in the attached photo, the keyboard folds in two parts so it can be easily carried around.
Its design is mostly inspired by the Touch Cover that has been available for Surface tablets since October 2012 and which indeed made typing feel more natural on such a portable device. The Surface Touch Cover is only 6mm thick, and expect similar specs for the foldable keyboard too.
