These similar types of incidents are happening so fast that insiders or

"enemies behind our lines" are now suspected of helping the other

sides do their evil deeds...

Some now speculate that insiders helped with the SONY hack...

Only time will tell since the insiders are not talking--- YET...

No worries ,

The power plant control systems are completely separate from any outside function at every nuclear plant.

The documents stolen by the hackers were from computer systems at the Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Company (KHNP), and included personnel information on its employees and some old diagrams and technical information already widely known.

Officials quickly moved to dispel public fears. “It is 100% impossible that a hacker can stop nuclear power plants by attacking them because the control monitoring system is totally independent and closed,” a KHNP official said (The Guardian). In addition, the physical security of these plants is managed by normal physical access controls, which also cannot be disrupted by hacking.

This is a good opportunity to appreciate the strength of nuclear systems having always been disconnected from the rest of the world. Fortunately, even new designs of nuclear reactors have such passive safety systems that they cannot be made to do anything except just shut down safely.

So a nice New Year’s message to the world is – there is no worry about hacking nuclear power.
