jvidal Posted December 14, 2014 Share Posted December 14, 2014 Astron's patch v3 is completely useless.First, it doesn't remove trial marls correctly. I couldn't install burning ROM, had to install the full suite, which didn't work either. After installing and patching, I launched NBR only to be greeted with a very nice "nero has been modified" message. It refuses to run and closes...Just FYI. steven36 Posted December 14, 2014 Share Posted December 14, 2014 what changed between Nero 2015 16.0.02800 and this version? i would use the one that had a working fix . I know many people who still use version 7 and 8 because this suite just gets larger every year . as far as micro versions you may as well use and old version or another alternative burner . Even Old Nero works good and if you dont have money to buy new you dont have much say you just have wait on the crackers anyways . New is not always better . cupster Posted December 20, 2014 Share Posted December 20, 2014 Thank you Astron for the tremendous amount of work that you have put into this project and the really detailed and thorough readme text. Unfortunately the V2 and V3 patches have stopped working when used on a Windows 8 machine. Initially everything worked great and updated still everything worked. Then Nero just stopped functioning, the app would not even open. Uninstalling, registry cleaning and re-installing essentially produced the same results, i.e. initially working then suddenly stops.Also in the readme file there is a statement "Now come the important part: go to "C:\Windows\Installer\" to find the installers of Nero left over. Use the "Subject" column to organize and find Nero's MSI files. If the column is not visible, right-click on the top bar and select it. Then uninstall each of the remaining applications of Nero: "Nero Core Componets", "Nero ControlCenter", "Nero Update" and others. Right-click on the files, and then click "Uninstall"."In Windows 8 I cannot located the file "C:\Windows\Installer\" (even with show hidden files checked). Could these files be in a different location.The reason I think this may be an issue is in the context menu I have 2 listings for nero media home. 1 of them opens the library app, and 1 immediately opens the player. The secret to finding the files as Astron described in W8 is to show system files, not just hidden files. Once I did that, then the very thorough instructions provided by Astron worked like a champ. Nero refuses ti run, claiming that "nero has been modified" and closes....I couldn't install nero burning rom standalone, cause it said my serial has expired (the patch failed to clean trial marks). The full platinum suite installed fine, but after patching, it wouldn't run, complaining that "nero has been modified".that's my experience.
