http://www.mediafire.com/download/u71gi2bt38huxdy/nvcuvenc_337.94.rar

Install official Nvidia Geforce drivers 344.48 and then copy these files (unpack nvcuvenc_337.94.rar) into the Windows folder.

And you have CUDA support with 344.48 drivers.

Yes,tried this already, but it DOES NOT WORK ANYMORE!!

We have to get a new medicin for this CUDA-problem , which comes back after every update!!

Although it's not the first time they use this name.

Even a cooler spotting! It makes sense to have the latest driver update available on nsane front page and simply link to download page for older versions though.

I did exactly this! And you have to do that after every update, because the installer deletes these 2 files again.

Hmmm... I simply installed the update (better WITHOUT the cleaning option!), added the 2 files again and then a normal Reboot.

Yes, I did so, still no CUDA-Support.....

What went wrong ????

First, unpack rar archive and you will get 2 folders.

Second, copy this 2 folders to C:\Windows and click owerwrite.

You mean ;system 32 and SYSWOW 64 not in C\Windows !!

I already did this ,it worked fine on the older nVidia-driver ,but it does not anymore on the latest !!

Don't know why, but Xilisoft doesn't detect CUDA for me after NVIDIA stopped including the cuda encoder dll files in the drivers. Although every other application that uses CUDA works just fine with this trick.

Is there anything special that needs to be done for this app to work with CUDA, other than copying the dlls to System32 and SysWOW64? I even copied the dlls to the application installation folder, as some apps work that way as well, but no luck.

Hmmmm... Ok, a second idea how to fix it:

1. Install the old version 337.88 or 337.94

2. Change the properties of nvcuvenv.dll in System32 and also SysWOW64 to Read-Only (you will need admin rights!)

3. Then install the newest version

I not tested it, but I think that might work for you.

Not sure if that would help, it's pretty much the same as copying those files when you have latest driver installed.

Are you by any chance using an older version of Xilisoft? I'm on the latest, v7.8.4.

I also use Xilisoft v7.8.4, so that is for sure not the problem.

But the drivers also use not only files but also for example the registry! And some tools like TuneUp often 'clean' the registry in the wrong time (for example between the new update and copying those 2 files). When that happens these 2 DDLs are simply not there anymore in the registry! The same problem if you enabled the cleaning option in the Nvidia installer. B)

I see comments about this on pretty much every single geforce driver post.

First of all, CUDA and "CUDA video encoder (NVCUVENC)" are two different things. CUDA is still supported.

Second, it's not a bug. CUDA video encoder (NVCUVENC) is no longer supported and has been removed.

https://developer.nvidia.com/nvidia-video-codec-sdk

Note: The NVCUVENC driver module was depreciated in R337 and has been removed in R340. We recommend developers to use the NVENC SDK for H.264 encode. This also requires a Kepler or Maxwell GPU to use. For developers and users that need to support for NVCUVENC, R337 or earlier drivers are required

Now it's up to developers to update their software.

EDIT: As others have mentioned, it's still possible to get NVCUVENC working, for now, by copying its files into the windows folder.

... or simply by adding the encoder module again in the newest version, because that still works!

And Nvidia is not God. :showoff:

eddman we know or at least some of us do. Even though it's just the old encoder that was removed, I personally like to refer to it simply as CUDA.

The information is useful for the rest that don't know, but unfortunately I haven't found a converter application that uses the NVENC encoder. I know some video recording software uses the new encoder, like Bandicam and Open Broadcaster Software.

Cyberlink MediaShow Espresso was supposed to have support for NVENC, but doesn't seem like it does, at least judging by what's on the support page, I haven't tried it.

PLEASE NOTE: For users of NVIDIA cards who have updated to graphics driver 340.43 or later, the video hardware acceleration feature in MediaEspresso is no longer available. To re-enable hardware acceleration, please download and install an earlier driver. http://www.cyberlink.com/products/mediaespresso/support_en_EU.html

I also use Xilisoft v7.8.4, so that is for sure not the problem.

I'll have to see if this works. I always selected to perform a clean installation or just uninstalled the old driver myself. Did you already test this method and didn't work if performing a clean install of the driver or cleaning the registry?

Although it's not a big deal, I can use other applications, Xilisoft is the only one that fails to detect CUDA for me and I was just wondering why.
