I am running Eset Smart security 7, I try to ugrade it on the Eset software, it says no updates available, you have the lasest version. I want to avoid uninstalling because in the past it gave me errors when re-instaalling and I ended up reinstalling windows. It is possible - it is not advisable.If you examine the config. file (xml) of the V7 and the V8, you will spot a great deal of structural change.I would not be surprised if those who performed a V8 install on top of the V7 bumped into multiple issues in the longer run. jofre Posted September 30, 2014 Share Posted September 30, 2014 I installed ESS v.8.0.301.0 ( using Eset Smart Security live installer) over previous 7.0.317.4, this one was uninstalled automatically and...configurations I did before remain and TNod User and Password Finder 1.4.2.3 works fine ! :win:Very easy... Sonar Posted September 30, 2014 Share Posted September 30, 2014 ive never had any problems using my previous config backup.Ive just updated EAV from 7 to 8 using 7's config file as it was reset installing over the top.editTo not confuse people - Ive always used 7's ESS config too.I have exported a new config though through ESS/EAV 8 replacing my EAV/ESS 7 config.
