After spending the past two years in damage control mode over Windows 8, Microsoft will officially begin a new era for its OS on Tuesday, when its expected to unveil a technical preview of Windows next major version during an event focused on enterprise customers.

The rumors has circulated for a while, but it looks like Windows 9 will be available free to owners of Windows 8. That's according to Indonesian news site as we have reported that windows 9 could cost 30 $ for windows 7 users.

Its pretty well known that Microsoft is big on telemetry datafor that Microsoft will be using a new system called Asimov (Halo influenced codename) which was originally built by the Xbox One team and is set to provide a near real-time view on how users are interacting with their new OS.hat lets the OS team see in near real-time whats happening on users machines. This is how Microsoft may be able to measure how successful the features it flights with different user groups are.

With Windows 9, Microsoft will try again to better compete against iOS and Android, while at the same time protecting the dominance it still holds of the PC OS market. And it cant afford another Windows 8-like blunder.

Windows 9 will probably be released in the second half of 2015. A reportedly leaked document indicates the release for both Windows 9 and Windows Phone 9 will launch between Q2 and Q3 2015.
