Windows Firewall Control 4.1.4.0

Recommended Posts

Microsoft Windows have already built-in default, free and powerful firewalls, but unfortunately, they lack a simple interface to define own simple rules and can be difficult sometimes to configure them the right way. Windows Firewall Control is a nifty little application which extends the functionality of the Windows Firewall and provides quick access to the most frequent options of Windows Firewall. It runs in the system tray and allows user to control the native firewall easily without having to waste time by navigating to the specific part of the firewall. Windows Firewall Control offers four filtering modes which can be switched with just a mouse click. WFC is free to use, registered users will get the advantage of learning mode which provides notifications for outgoing blocked connections.

Thanks to ARMOUR for the update.

Updated this release to dozens of systems without a single issue. F3h9xqz.gif

I feel that those facing the installation problem might need to check their Secure Boot setting. yXZVmpE.gif

No trouble updating to this version , I had had trouble with it a long time ago on windows 7 x64 on a different machine installing it before so I'm not really surprised to hear it . But that was many versions ago no troubles on this computer so far knock on wood.

The message says that "UAC elevation was cancelled by the user. Installation aborted." To be able to continue the installation you must allow the installer to elevate itself by choosing this in the UAC dialog prompt. If you choose No, then the installer can not continue and displays the message that you have received.

The problem is yours(those who are still using 32-bit ) not mine :P

It won't be fixed unless you/those who are facing the issue report to dev with logs, etc :coolwink:

Use http://www.binisoft.org/contact.php to report :d

Does disabling UAC cause that error?

are you the developer? DlvWohZ.gif

Well, Jokes apart, UAC setting are set to default Recommended i.e. Notify only when apps try to make changes to computer.

The problem seems to stem from the changelog:--

What's new:
- New: The installer requires elevated privileges only when the installation is actually done. It can be executed with normal user account privileges.
