Back in June, 2012, Microsoft introduced Windows Phone 7.8. It’s been almost 2 years since Windows Phone 7.8 launched and the company will finally dump it sometime soon. Microsoft previously stated that the company will end support for Windows Phone 7.8 on September 9th. However, the company has extended it to October 14th as 19.2% users still using Windows Phone 7.8. Microsoft states:

Microsoft will make updates available for the Operating System on your phone, including security updates, for a period of 18 months after the lifecycle start date. Distribution of the updates may be controlled by the mobile operator or the phone manufacturer from which you purchased your phone. Update availability will also vary by country, region, and hardware capabilities.

Those of you who are still using Windows Phone 7.8, will not receive any other new features or updates after October 14th.
