AX64 Time Machine is a backup and recovery software that enables a ridiculously easy and fast way to restore your PC to an earlier point in time. Time Machine allows to quickly recover from: disk failures, system crashes, virus infections, unwanted program installations, etc. It securely backs up all your files, and provides efficient means to find and retrieve any file from earlier point in time. Best of all, you can backup to any type of storage, including internal, external, and networked drives. Backup is automated, so you’ll never forget to do it, and you can even use AX64 Time Machine to keep multiple save points so you can hop back and forth through time.

Thanks to Ponting and PiP0Z0 for the update.

I am upgrading from the last beta to this final. I went over top with no problems. I use the Boot menu function. My question is...Do I need to redo this with the final version or is the beta when I created it ok? Thanks.

Although trial rester is a solution , i consider it as half cure , since ax64 is light protection and can be easy keygen , and TR are more for the heavy duty software like antiviruses software.

i will wait for a better cure "apply and forget" style :)

edit

i couldn't resisted it , installing new version 2 :)

is this software better then comodo time machine (since comodo as put its development on stand by)?

i assume that it does the same job, and may be better then windows restore funtion and may be better as well then windows 8/8.1 restore points and system restore (revert from image like acronis ou todo ease us image system image back up)?

I have remained quiet as I made the decision, not to go on with the release version, but revert back to my old standby Macrium,IFW, SP and Raxco's Instant Recovery. While TM Beta 2 never once failed on a warm restore, I never felt comfortable trusting just it, and always took a Macrium Incremental to go with it.

A while back I stated I thought TM was a good rollback solution, but was in no way an imaging program. Tests with Perfect Disk is what convinced me. Back then I did a test. I took clean images with Macrium,IFW,SP and TM. Then created an incremental with each. I followed this with a complete defrag with PD, both off and online. I then took new incrementals with each. Not surprisingly TM's took longest as it had to redo the tracking file. That's fine. I then did the following with each program. Restored the image prior to defrag, and then restored again after the defrag. Macrium,IFW,SP all did fine on both restores. TM, restore to the before defrag state, but the after restored, failed and left the system unbootable. That is unacceptable.

Just before the release, I did another test, but didn't bother reporting it. Shadowprotect in conjunction with it's add on ImageManager runs something called Continuous Incrementals. It's automatic, and collapses the images on a user schedule. Using hourly time frame for the incrementals the average time for an incremental, was around 35 seconds. Like TM it uses a tracking file. So when the kinds of things that cause TM, to take the time of a full image to repair the tracking file, the same is true with the SP Continuous incrementals. No surprise.

I test I ran was to set up the SP job, and wait until it had taken two incrementals. Between their run I take a base TM image, and one incremental. Then I tested these to make sure there was no conflict that would invalidate the test. All images and incrementals were fine, and restored fine.

I then repeated the test, and between one set of the tests, I did the full Perfect Disk defrag. Again I took a TM incremental which took time. SP's next incremental also took time. I then did the test restores, before and after the defrag. SP restored both just fine. Again TM failed the after restore. Unacceptable.

While in part I can agree with what Demoneye said, my problem is I've lost faith in what is being said and what is delivered.

What I am now seeing is what was released and what we are being ask to pay for wasn't even good enough to be a release candidate, but should have been beta 3.

RollBack Rx :win: as AX64TM v2 is not stable yet :tooth:

It's always been in Beta as far as im concerned. Still using V1 beta as it was better than the version they had on the site.

Don't see V2 being any different.

I really like it and always use it (V1) so not complaining about that. What i'm not happy with is having to pay for a new license to use V2 when I'm sure it will always be in a beta state.

I can't ever imagine it being stable like Macrium Reflect. (which I use as a failsafe)

Just use v1.xx of AX64. I would rather have a virus and 50gb of fat lady pics on my computer than to install RollBack RX.

:uhuh: Being a RBRxfan,it isn't going to happen :tooth: especially with backup images from IFW,SP and MRP

Restoring to a blank disk was a feature since v1. It's called 'bare metal restore'. It continues to work that way in v1. V2 also has this function as well - though we've discovered it does not work all all system configurations. We are working to solve this problem hopefully in the next build.

Waj

Airstream_Bill

Well I installed it and then used the medicine. Rebooted the computer. Applet came up wanting to make Time Machine backup. I let it make the backup. After the backup was made. I installed a Stupid little program called Super RAM. I then opened up Time Machine and told it to restore my System to the time before Super RAM was installed. It said it was creating the Rescue Media Builder. It did that then a couple of other things. My machine rebooted. RX64 Time Machine started said it was restoring my system do not turn off computer it will restart automatically. It did. When my Computer rebooted and I logged into my Windows 8.1 64 but system, I thought to myself that was pretty slick. I then looked down and there was that Super RAM Program. A lot of hoopla but it did not restore my machine to the time before I installed Super RAM. Tooooo Bad.

locoJoe there is a difference between calling someone names like you did and stating the FACT that someone is crazy like i did.

Go over to Wilders Security Forums and say you like Rollback RX and almost everyone there will say one day you will be sorry . But over here you always have the 2 or 3 people trying to convince others its good or themselves I'm not sure witch . Even though there's ton of reports that say its not.

Most all the bugs that were reported by there end users the staff at horizondatasys deleted there post and didn't even fix the bugs .. That's why so many switched over to AX64 Time Machine many were users of Rollback RX for years and when they had trouble with it they were ignored and all bug reports were deleted .

RollBack...geez...they got me too topic :)

Anyways what I would like to know is how is this software since it updated is working for everyone in windows 8.1 ok since people have reported it don't to work very good in windows 8.1 but work very well for windows 7 .But I no longer use windows 7 since 2013 . So Ive not tired it . Is there really anything safe other than using real image back up software and windows system restore.
