Internet Download Manager 6.20

The general practice is to upload the serial / license / product-key to a host like PasteBin and then ShareCode link of the PasteBin file location, over here. ;)

Sorry about that. Edited.

No problem, bro. - you doing great!!! :)

Just realized that the fake serial pop up had come back again after restart but I can re-register by manually delete serial in registry key.

What am I missing in host file? I use the same as listed by Rok and already make it read only.

There is a lot more to it than meets the eye - hence, I called for a TeamView.

FWIW, the IDMGrHlp.exe is not relevant to the hosts method, in any way.

FWIW, Just try the Hosts method because after using the said workaround you can update your IDM to latest Builds with the help of built-in update manager.

FWIW, the IDMGrHlp.exe is not relevant to the hosts method, in any way.

Facts:

1) The host file patching technique is done to prevent the server checks.

2) The program responsible for the server check is IDMGrHlp.exe.

Therefore, no need to patch the hosts file you don't have a the IDMGrHlp.exe that performs the server check.

I have the IDMGrHlp.exe on my system and never ever have to bother about it with the hosts method. 8)

Updating using the built-in update manager has nothing to do with the server check that blacklists your serial. Even the unregistered version can update using the update manager without a problem.

Good for you. I'm not saying the host patching technique does not work. I am just giving another solution to our common problem, that is--- the server check. As long as we accomplish the same result, then we're all good.

There are several ways to solve a math problem. But as long as we get the correct answer, the method we choose does not really matter. ;)

Moreover, we do not patch our hosts, here - we just edit it once and then it is done for life.

Thereafter, release after IDM release - we just need to download and install and it retains its original digital signature, activation & registration (without use of any patch/es or keygen/s or serial/s.)

Try using Hosts workaround & Post the screenshot for your outcome! thinking.gif

From a programmer/hacker/cracker's perspective, editing/adding entries to the host file is by definition the same as "patching" it.

Cool. Same with my technique. As I previously said, there are several ways to solve a math problem. The only thing that matters is that we get the correct answer.

Sorry, I can't do that because I am already updated to the latest version. But yes, I am fully aware of how the host patching technique works because I am open to other solutions. That is how I learn.

Some of the patches-cum-keygens that you guys use; also patch the hosts file.

We guys do use any of those patches - we just have to open the hosts file once (Programmers, Hackers / Crackers call that editing - enjoy the difference.)

Thereafter, release after IDM release - we just need download and install and it retains its digital signature, activation & registration (without use of any patch/es or keygen/s or serial/s.)

No, no - not at all same with your technique - you have to use use 3rd party tools like patch/es or keygen/s or serial/s each and every time you install or re-install a new IDM, we don't - it is a one time operation in life for us and the hosts method ensures that we don't lose the IDM digital signature.

There may be several ways to solve a math problem - but, marks are given purely based on the working.

Hahahaha... Based on your responses, it is clear to me that you are not a programmer. Show me a working crack/hack/patch/program that you ORIGINALLY WROTE YOURSELF. Until then, don't correct my already correct terminology.

"marks are given purely based on the working." -- My screenshot is an evidence that my technique works. I am not going to argue with individuals who makes direct attacks and derogative statements, and criticize other's work. If you are not interested in learning new tricks because you are completely satisfied with your old ones, suit yourself. I am only sharing my knowledge to others who are interested in learning something new. I rest my case.

Have fun with your genuine IDMGrHlp.exe that serves ABSOLUTELY NO PURPOSE, than consume 200+ kb of disk space and minute system resource.

Who claimed that I am a Programmer and what seems to be the reason for being so ha, ha, ha - why so hysterical???

If patched is the same as edited in your dictionary - then, all the best to your vocabulary. :dunno:

My screenshot is an evidence that my technique works.

Wonderful - who claimed your technique did not work? We are extremely happy for you.

Who are those individuals??? Can you point out the so called direct attacks and derogatory statements criticizing your work.

Did anybody invite or request you to teach those age-old, sodden *tricks* which you so sincerely believe are new?

BTW, you were the one who approached me with your free and unsolicited advice at post # 28.

Have fun with your genuine IDMGrHlp.exe that serves ABSOLUTELY NO PURPOSE, than consume 200+ kb of disk space and minute system resource.

You can keep your IDMGrHlp.exe to yourself - I don't buy that (it is not needed for those of us who use the hosts method.).

There is way to much emphasis put on cracking this buggy software no one is much interested in cracking a software that can be patched in host for as long as I can remember. I've been using host files trick and it always works for me no matter how many times IDM defeats a patch . I'm more concerned with all the bugs it has, like the bug that made me stay with the same build in widows 7 for years because all newer builds would freeze up on my system . Long as you keep updating xpi old builds remain functional. Now on windows 8.1 me and others have a new bug were IDM lags when starting a download . Maybe its time for me to switch to something free.
