WindowBlinds 8.04

WindowBlinds is a program that enables Windows users to completely change the look and feel of the Windows user interface. Users customize Windows by using visual styles (skins) created for WindowBlinds. WindowBlinds skins virtually every aspect of the Windows GUI that one can imagine. And in fact, the enhanced visual styles used by WindowBlinds can skin things previously not thought to be skinnable such as logon/logoff dialogs, the "please wait" dialog, backgrounds in the Control Panel and other special folders, and more. Latest version works with Windows 7/8 and Windows Server 2008 R2/2012.

Thanks to selesn777 and Engh3 for the update.

Thanks for you efforts, Selesn777 - I hope you did not use the BB Trial Reset on your system (it's inhibited virus like activity when I tried it on WindowBlinds 8.02.) :(

Oh, is BB a member, with us - BB if you're passing this way, look forward to beta-test your patch for you? :P

Can't remember exactly - it was on version 8.02 of WindowBlinds and I experimented with it on a Customer's production laptop that had just come in for a reformat. Firstly, the patching was not happening with NOD32 running - had to disable it.

Post patching, there was a file with a long garbled name at the root of my volume which refused to get deleted - upon closer inspection, it was found traceable to an application that turned out to be the BB Trial reset (but, running under a completely different name.)

I recall uninstalling WindowBlinds 8.02 - but, it was quite a challenge getting the BB Trial Reset completely off the system.

hmm..only "BBs" can properly answer that question

usually to uninstall BBs TR, you need to use the same TR version

to uninstall "Auto reset",just press "Reset only"

might be related to the file you mentioned

Note: The auto trial reset will change the computer name every 30 days.
You can also use the manual reset 1-2 days before your trial expires to extend the trial to 60 days without changing the computer name that often.

Whatever i posted was after uninstalling the BB Trial Reset - that's why I mentioned virus-like behavior.

BBs patch resets any Stardock product installed to its trial period. I can not use it because I have ModernMix and Start8 purchased. So no WindowBlinds for me :(

Mhmm cool story. Are you sure you didn't download some fake patch from torrent and are confused with my name?

Ps.: The version posted by @selesen777 is outdated and not probably not working after 30 days. You can get the newest version from coderscorner.

It's possible - had downloaded it from 2baksa and others reported it, too.

You can get the newest version from coderscorner.

Shall test it and report back next week just before migrating to the 8.1 Update - we'll find out whether it's a story or cool. :coolwink:

Mate can you also please include support for Deskscapes?? also virus total shows this: 5/32 Detection rate

https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/6007f5be16b313f06874cf8072487c0b673bfe8464be72c3de85a5541e19df48/analysis/1399193106/

Included the VIrusTotal info to just show that its detected as a virus but is not a virus and so that Bro BBs could make a workaround of it

I dont think it delete's the original license files only the ones that have trial in it. not sure again, BBs can only answer that
