sujith
After months of teases and their own orchestrated leaks of information, the company called OnePlus has finally and officially announced their debut smartphone, the OnePlus One. The device has some impressive hardware specs and will have a no-contract price starting at $299 for the 16GB version when it goes on sale in the U.S and other parts of the world. The smartphone will be using CyanogenMod 11S, a special version of the modified Android 4.4 OS that OnePlus claims will allow the user to "mix and match thousands of themes" and also provide better security via SMS encryption between the OnePlus One and CyanogenMod or TextSecure-compatible devices. Inside, there's a Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor running at 2.5GHz, 3GB of RAM, and a 5.5 inch screen with 1080p resolution. There's a 3100 mAh battery which OnePlus claims to allow their smartphone to run for more than a day, but specifics were not mentioned. The One has a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front facing camera. The OnePlus One comes in black and white colors and the company will also sell a 64GB version for $349, again without contract. On Friday, OnePlus will sell 100 of their first smartphones for just $1 to a select group of people who sign up for their OnePlus Phone Smash promotion on Friday. The winners will also be allowed to invite others to purchase the smartphone. Indeed, it looks like the OnePlus One will be sold via an invite-only process for at least the next month or so. Rok
It's time to dump Samsung Galaxy S series, OnePlus has come up with nice specifications. Lets wait for G3. But, it's for certain that Galaxy S5 and more won't live up to the hype created by S2 and S3.
