iWatch Concept Features A Round Moto 360-like Display

With Google having announced the smartwatch-optimized Android Wear OS as short while ago, it’s looking increasingly likely that Apple will respond with a device of its own. Even though, as revealed last year, the Cupertino company has apparently assigned a dedicated team to the process of developing the so-called “iWatch,” we don’t, as yet, have much idea as to its form factor. The various concept designers have regularly offered their takes on what might be in the offing, and Nermin Hasanovic’s latest effort presents a very circular, Moto 360-esque approach.

When Google launched Android Wear, it was also noted that several manufacturing partners would be releasing smartwatches running on the software. Along with HTC and LG, it was revealed that former Google subsidiary Motorola would be getting in on the act, and it’s fair to say that, with the unveiling of the Moto 360, the interest of smartwatch-craving tech fans has been well and truly piqued.

This concept presents that Moto 360-like form factor running iOS features like Siri, notifications and Messages, and given that iOS 8 is also set to bring a “Healthbook” suite to the fold, Hasanovic’s design also gives a taster of how this might look on iWatch.

The health and wellbeing market is very lucrative indeed, and while Apple has teamed up with Nike on several occasions in producing some popular fitness-related products, the time appears to have come for a more concerted push. Healthbook, from what we’ve heard, will be able to monitor everything from blood pressure to calorie intake, and even though a great deal of its features will be managed through iPhone, there’s no doubt that a smartwatch would more than supplement the overall experience.

Even though we like the way apps have been adjusted to suit the circular display here, we’re not particularly blown away by the design of the watch itself. It seems a little too plain and underwhelming for an Apple product, and given that most of the iOS device range likes to make a bit of a statement aesthetically, we’re expecting no less of any prospective iWatch endeavors.
