ESET-NOD32-to-Continue-Working-on-Window

Windows XP no longer receives security updates and patches, but security vendors across the world are still working to improve their software solutions in order to continue working on the retired platform.

ESET today revealed that all its security products, including the NOD32 anti-virus solution, will continue to work on Windows XP until the end of April 2017.

All ESET products will receive regular virus signature updates for the latest threats, constant updates to other parts of the anti-virus engine, such as the proactive detection module, and ESET Customer Care support requests, the company revealed today.

“Please note that while your service from ESET will not change, your system protection might not be up to par with our latest products as some of our newest detection technology will be impossible to backport. Also, your system could become more vulnerable to threats because it will no longer receive regular system updates from Microsoft. Regular system updates are used to repair exploits and patch existing security vulnerabilities,” the company said today in an advisory.

All users are recommended to upgrade the operating system and or move important data to a computer running a newer OS version, but also to make sure that the anti-virus software running on their PCs is fully up to date.

Is this only for newer versions or will ALL versions stop working? Personally, I don't see a reason to install the new versions on an old OS.

Oh, I disable that feature anyway. I already have Windows to annoy me--I mean, notify me when there are updates.

Personally, I don't see a reason for any version of any AntiVirus system on the immortal XP - the owners & Users of XP have evolved into SuperHumans of the invincible kind. :dunno:

I can't wait for the hacks, because unfortunately people never listen until it is too late and need to see the world burn to start changing.

Once they have to have the Banks reverse bad charges and they scold them for using XP only then will they understand what they are getting into. I feel sorry for the tech illiterate people but the governments and larger businesses deserve to be thoroughly owned for their stubborn ignorance.

Sometimes, the only way to figure out that running a non supported OS can lead to problems is to do it and learn from it. :pos: :fool:
