Windows 8 is an operating system produced by Microsoft for use on personal computers, including home and business desktops, laptops, tablets, and home theater PCs. It is part of the Windows NT family of operating systems and succeeds Windows 7. Windows 8 is slated for general availability on October 26, 2012.
Development of this operating system started before the release of its predecessor in 2009. Its existence was first announced in January 2011 at Consumer Electronics Show. During its development and test phases, Microsoft released three pre-release versions: Developer Preview (September 2011), Consumer Preview (March 2012), and Release Preview (May 2012). On August 1, 2012, Windows 8 graduated from the development stage and was released to manufacturing.
Windows 8 is built based on Metro design language and introduces a new form of "Windows 8-style software", which may only be obtained through Windows Store. Windows 8 also features a new start screen, Internet Explorer 10, native support for USB 3.0, a new Windows Defender that combats malware, Windows To Go, and support for UEFI SecureBoot.

What does SW mean and MLF?

SoftWare_DVD_5 (SW)

I think that one is simple enough.

Microsoft Licensing Fulfilment (MLF)

Microsoft Licensing Fulfilment, or MLF, provides master copies of Microsoft software to be used in conjunction with Microsoft Volume Licensing. The master copies are only media; licences to use the software are not included.

Windows 8.1 RTM GA Rollup-1 Update includes updates

.KB2894179

KB2883200

KB2894029

KB2889543 (Now Outdated & Superseded by KB2886439)

Microsoft Released the Updated Windows 8.1 RTM with GA ISO Images available for VOLUME customers in order to facilitate the deployment of systems in an enterprise environment from scratch, ie saves time as updates already included.

These updates are freely available through Windows automatic updates anyway, so what is the difference ?, about half an hour of time downloading and installing updates automatically.

please someone give the direct link, I have slow internet and I can't download from bannedhost.net

Curiously, there's no Spanish DVD in the first link, but it's always very easy to find then on torrent, so...

I want to ask you for one concrete thing: i have a legal license for Windows 8 Pro got from DreamSpark some months ago, could i use that license with this new Rollup? The reason i doubt is that VL licensing... and i prefer a legal copy simply cause i have a license,.. xDDDDD

@Jota.Ce

AFAIK, Microsoft has made Windows 8.1 Professional available to DreamSpark users, download , use generic installation key to install

then use your legit 8 key to activate. Update through Windows updates and you have the GA rollup.

:)

I have to re-explain... as some things may be untold.

Yeah, i got Windows 8 from DreamSpark (through my university), and i got a license for Win8 Pro.

Since September i don't have access to DreamSpark, so i only have an official MSDN ISO for Win 8 Pro and a legal license for it. I wanted to rebuild my system, with an updated Win XP and a Win 8.1 Pro.

So my question is: if i download this Roll-Up ISO file, could i install it and activate with my "old" Win 8 Pro license?

PS: I also have another question... since Win8 boot loader seems too slow for me, and when i want to start WinXP it seems to be rebooting to load it... could i use Win 7 boot loader to boot both systems (XP/8.1) ?????

Thanks for your time in this ;)

@Jota.Ce

My personal suggestion would be to download your own MS 8.1 ISO , see this

http://www.nsaneforums.com/topic/190216-how-to-download-windows-81-if-you-cant-see-the-update-in-the-windows-store/?p=661640

Burn ISO or usb , install with generic pro key C9WKB, after install, you can then enter your original (and legit) Windows 8 key and activate it.

Or download Spanish WZOR/MSDN 8.1 ISO from here to also clean install

http://www.nsaneforums.com/topic/184689-windows-81-rtm-all-edition-available-languages-updated-list/

and also activate with legit key.

As for dual boot question, i do not do it, so maybe ask in software chat as numerous other members dual boot and will be able to answer.

OK, but you don't recommend me using Roll-up version, even if it's the one i wanted (just to get the most updated-integrated version).

I'll try with your second suggestion as it's cleaner for me ;)

Thanks a lot for your time ;)

Those what have already downloaded and installed WZOR MSDN Windows 8.1 RTM need not to download and re-install Windows 8.1. As, Microsoft's Updated Rollup 1 that comes with GA, will be downloaded through Windows Update automatically. The following you should receive:

Windows 8.1 GA Rollup-1 Update includes:

KB 2894029 and KB 2894179 superseded by (KB 2883200)

KB2889543 superseded (KB2886439)

KB2895219

KB2884846

KB2901549

KB2884101
