Okay this just sucks...

Happened not sure when given the fact that I don't restart my Computer Much...

But whenever i boot up I receive this error:

The instruction at "0x7c9100c8" referenced memory at "0x00000010". The memory could not be "read".

After I click on ok/cancel

The same error comes up

After I click on ok/cancel

Then bam my Audio (Realtek) is disabled...

I've tried Uninstalling/Reinstalling and after that I get a new svchost.exe - Application Error

This time it is "0x00000000"

{This is same problem, afterwards my Audio is disabled/no found}

And yeah can't seem to fins how to fix this... Ran Spyware tests and nothing showed up...

Checked my StartUp List and nothing out of the ordinary there...

Hopefully someone can help me out as I have a HiJackThis Log:

Hi Cultivator,

Try booting in Safe Mode (F8) with the Realtek driver install and see if you still have the same problem. (You shouldn't have the error.) Then start your PC in normal mode and see if you still have the same problem. (I assume you will.) Then try uninstalling the Realtek audio driver and restarted your computer. If you don't have the problem, then I think that you may have a driver(s) conflict due to an outdated driver(s) because the OS was updated. I would update the BIOS and all my drivers (video, audio, chipset, and etc.). I have a similar problem before. (At first I thought that it was my RAM.) I then updated my BIOS (first) and then all my drivers and the problem was gone.

@box: Hmm nah all my drivers are all up to date, so that shouldn't be the problem. Will try the safe mode method later on.

Yeah,no Application Error in Safe Mode, but once back in normal mode, problem occurs.. and tried uninstalling my Antivirus (NoD32) because the system tray icon never shows... But yeah that didn't do anything either...

Remove or Roll back your drivers, new driver does not necessary by compatible with your hardware.

Reinstall the drivers one by one, reboot each time until you get the same error message.

Normally, it is wise to update drivers, but at time, the newer driver is not compatible.

Your HJT log does not look out of the ordinary except:

^The funny thing about that is... I didn't update anything 'recently' when this began happening... All my drivers have remained the 'same' for quite some time now (Way over 3 months)... So yeah, didn't update anything, so all are 'compatible'... Bah, not too sure if problem is fixed.. as i just kept restarting for a while and this ONE time it went smoothly... not gonna try again till it is absolutely necessary =X

Try updating your bios.

Don't do this unless you are very sure of what you are doing!

Hehe yes that's the first thing I did actually.

If you have tried everything and still the error persists then i will repeat myself that its time to format because may be something has gone wrong in a year as you also said that your NOD32 icon doesn't appear this kind of errors do creep in if you continue using windows for long time.

Hi Cultivator,

I'm putting you under a spotlight. So, tell me.

What is your motherboard brand and model?

What version is your BIOS?

What is your chipset, driver, date, and version number?

What is your audio, driver date and version?

What is your video, driver date and version?

Lastly, in the Device Manager, are there any yellow or red?

Going off the top of my head...

1/2/3 hehe yeah don't know.

4. Realtek AC'97 Audio (2008/10/1 A4.06)

5. Nvidia 7600GS (Not sure on date, 178.24 {Latest doesn't support my card})

No yellow/red in Device Manager

Ref #4: When I had XP64 with ATI card, I upgraded my ATI driver and it messed up my PC. I said to myself, why in the hell would ATI release an updated driver that doesn't even work. It really ticked me off. I decided to update my BIOS and chipset too and everything was OK.

Download the (CPU-Z 1.48) and open up the Mainboard tab. It should give you a little info about your motherboard. You may have to go into the BIOS setting on the computer to see the BIOS version. If you can send me a snapshot than I will try to get the updates if I can find them.
